Doesn’t our inability to get things right reflect poorly on our Creator? I mean, if we’re made in His image and we’re a bunch of clueless tossers who wreck everything we touch, what does that say about Him? Doesn’t that make him the Supreme Loser? If we’re His greatest creation I’d hate to see the crap He turns out on a bad day.
I know we’re supposed to avoid debating theology here, but I have a hard time thinking of myself as one of God’s better efforts.
you are absolutely right,I am currently in a state of denial and vindicative cruelness because of my current circumstances, and I have lately been thinking of Him as the God that failed.
But isn’t that more of us pushing it off something else to take the focus off us?
God gave us many things to do what we choose with as a test of whether or not we can handle the next stage.
Look what we did with what He gave us…turn on the news.
Suggestion: Don’t worry too much about the things you can’t fix or affect beyond casting a vote come election time. Find a way to make a positive contribution in your own community today. Volunteer. Perform. Create some art. Do something positive and pay it forward just a little bit. We get enough people doing that and the world will be better. That change has to start somewhere.
Agnosticism is a logically unsound position. You either believe in god(s) or you do not. Simple as that. It’s like electricity - it’s either there or it’s not. That’s like being a little pregnant. Here, I will break it down:
There is “theism” and “atheism.” Theism, by definition, means belief in a theological being. Atheism, by definition is a conglomeration of two Greek words - “a” meaning “without” and “theism” meaning “theistic belief.” That brings us to agnosticism. “A” again meaning “without,” and “gnosis,” meaning knowledge…literally “without knowledge.” That is the DEFINITION of weak atheism. Not explicitly defying a belief, but not affirming one at the same time. If you are “without” then you are not affirming a belief in anything.
god is himself and himself only, he is the father of only daughters the world soul objects and from their mating comes angels and then life on worlds. The angels are the key to life they carry templates within them to begin life to bring life to a point of consciousness. The world soul objects like Gaia are here to assist in this they are the way to advance and to ascend as a people, for in them are the routes to the other dimensions of life.
This world is not as it was intended to be. a world should never have more conscious souls on it then those allowed to be reborn this number is 500 million so this world has 6.5 billion more souls then there should be on it. Only the allowed can be reborn all the others will become nothing after death this is how worlds were to remain in balance. life here should have only had those allowed and the angels and that is all.
A not allowed soul can never find their mind in life this is the evil you see this is the pain you feel around you. How can you remove something nothing understands.
There are bad things here now in the veil or the after that have created this problem they are here to take this world from the other side without any one knowing. I get to see this and have watched as many of them are being pulled apart.
I believe god has come and is here now trying to stop this problem but also had a hand in creating it to stop those that have laid waste to many worlds before this one. God tricked them into coming here by putting something in front of them that they could not resist and that was eternal life but in the end it will be fools gold. They have all come here and he is here to bring an end to this once and for all.
Sometimes we do not see the bigger picture as we are blind to things due to our immaturity as souls. Try to have faith, and remember it is about the soul and not as much about the human experience for your soul can be reborn thousands of times.
By the way, belief in God is logically unsound. There are characteristics that are attributed to God that are self-contradictory. One big glaring example is what has become known as “The Problem of Evil.” Namely, how can a “loving” “all-good and all-powerful” being create a world full of evil? If we are to contest the definition of evil as it relates to this world we live in, then by extension it does not apply to a theistic belief system. Theology is logically unsound. Prima facie, belief in God is absurd and must be met with hostility and logically sound arguments, all of which make the definition of God unsound.
You have the tools to be good or evil it is what you do with these tools that defines a people as a whole. It’s like getting burnt by placing your hand on a hot iron. If we neglect the fact the iron is hot we get burnt if we accept and learn form the burn we grow within. Was it gods fault you burnt yourself the first time or the millions of other times others burned themselves who is responsible to insure you keep from getting burnt? How do we experience if we never suffer pain, for me I live by the saying what hurts me makes me stronger. I think people just want things perfect all the time without making an effort to make changes. We would never change if we did not suffer a little bit, how stagnant would that be?
Is it the 8 year-old’s fault that he/she has bone cancer? How about the poor person in India who contracted a parasite whose sole purpose in existence in life is to eat an eyeball from the inside out. Your arguments are not sound. Try again.
How is it gods fault my argument is sound. Do you know for a fact that there is no cure for cancer and it is being kept from those that need it. The parasite thing is the same as being burnt how many after that have died since did we learn form this? You want to blame something that you know nothing of when the true problems are within ourselves.
This belongs in a category called “Unusual Beliefs.” This is almost THE definition of paranoia. Just because we can imagine something does not make it so. I can say I believe that unicorns are controlling my thoughts - but is that LOGICAL? No, of course not.
Sarcasm ON: Yes, absolutely, let’s blame the illiterate man in India with no connection to the outside world for contracting an illness. While we’re debating that, let’s debate why it’s our fault we catch colds. SARCASM OFF. You make NO sense at all.
I didn’t believe in a god, gods, or God (Judao/Xtian thingy). After joining AA and getting drunk over and over and over while trying not to, my sponsor asked me to try praying.
“But I don’t believe in God.”
“I didn’t ask you to believe in God, I asked you to try praying.”
“I’ll feel totally stupid.”
“And how do you feel every time you get drunk?”
“…”
So I tried praying. Haven’t had a drink since and let me tell you that sort of crap can mess with your head. Don’t have any idea how the hell it works and I don’t want to. I know enough to not look a gift horse in the mouth. One of the craziest life lessons I’ve learned is that sometimes things can work without making sense and you just have to be willing to accept the miracle. Maybe that makes me a little bit pregnant, but it’s made me a LOT sober over the past 23 years.
Praying gives me Good Orderly Direction. It’s enough.
I raised my children to be aware and if they did not listen then this is my fault not gods. Accidents happen but can they be avoided? can we learn to change and find solutions? perhaps this is the test he presents you with.
As for psychological problems how many are brought on by drugs or abuse these things can be avoided also. some cases are of other natures but not everything is perfect.
i hear voices 24/7 they are with me every thinking minute but I cope with them I try to understand them I have grown from this as a person and not once did I blame god for this.
And what of the other people in AA/NA/whateverA who HAVE tried to pray, but drink anyway, or die from an unrelated injury/accident/illness the next day. Coincidence does not confirm causation.
Who’s fault is it that the person in India is uneducated have you ever read the Georgia guide stones. Again We are to blame for not making a more even world and a more fair world. We spend our lives in jobs and circuses as the rich get richer everything dictated by money and you want to place the blame on a god instead of seeing the true monster at work here, And now god is also responsible for your colds? What are you responsible for then?
I am an atheist and have been my whole life but I do imagine if their were a god He would hope that people would find a way to figure things out for themselves.
You must have missed the “SARCASM” in big caps. This is not some utopic world where we can all have this and that at the drop of a hat. Quite the contrary, that’s what Christianity portrays: an all-loving god. Why do only a select few of his “chosen people” get into heaven? None of this makes any sense. Your argument has more holes than swiss cheese, and I’m done with this thread which is only awaiting a lock. Goodnight and goodbye.
Could be any number of things causing people to slip. Could be not working the steps. Could be they haven’t hit bottom yet. Could be not working toward changing habits.
Which is why I suspect prayer worked for me. Hella huge change in my habits. Forced me to think outside of myself. I am not saying that there are supernatural forces at work here (don’t know, don’t care). The whole thing probably has more to do with some jive psychological boogaloo that @notmoses can speak to. All I can tell you is that I had hit bottom, I had messed up my liver function, and I was going downhill freakin’ fast. Couldn’t quit despite knowing how damn ill I was. Then I tried something, it worked, and I am NOT letting go of it. Taking that friggin’ life preserver to the grave with me, baby.
AA may not be the thing for people who are trying to quit drinking, but it does help many. For those who are in AA I suggest working the steps as best you can, going to as many meetings as you can, and doing what your sponsor says. Nine times out of then they know better than you do. The one time out of ten they don’t doesn’t matter. That, and close your mouth before a fly lands in it.
I understand your problems with Christianity but who says they are right about god or anything for that matter. Here is the funny thing you are an allowed soul and you will go to heaven and the pope he will not even get to see the after world as he just becomes nothing inside of himself after this life. The reason for you being allowed is the same reason you hear voices or have the experiences you have.
