I played violin for 5 years when I was a kid. I wish I never had to give it up. Unfortunately, I had to quit when I went to high school since none of the high schools in my area offered orchestra and our family couldn’t afford private lessons. Very sad:(
I joined the percussion section of the band instead. Maybe I wish I still played marimba too. I was good and it was fun. But the marimba is very large.
I would like to learn kalimba one day. Very portable and seems easy.
I once wanted to play the trumpet but failed to speak up to my Dad about a band camp I had to attend one day he was keeping me and my brothers in the Summer. So we went fishing and I had a ton of study hall instead. It was simply how I was then with a failure to communicate due to an anxiety that has plagued me most of my life.
I played guitar since I was 17 or so. I’m good at strumming chords, but have little skills when it comes to playing solos. I used to play saxophone a little bit when I was in a band, but it’s mostly been gathering dust for the last 10 years. I also have a keyboard that I have used some times. I still play the guitar occasionally. I’d like to find more time to learn and have fun with music. I recorded some cover songs on my own a few years ago which was fun. Hope to find some inspiration and spend some more time with music, after all it is relaxing and fun.
I started learning piano at age 14 but unfortunately I had to quit after about a year because my father was spending money like a lunatic and because of that we were broke and he had to sell my piano.
I was always too poverty stricken to afford a piano or lessons. It wasn’t until I was 46 years old and they came out with digital pianos that I felt lessons were finally within reach.
I can play guitar and trombone, but I really want to play piano or keyboard with both hands. I can play a melody or chords, but not with both hands. Drums would be another one.
