What medication doesnt cause cognitive problems?

Im having issues on the risperadal starting it. I go blank and it makes me very uncomfortable. Is this just an initial side effect? What medication doesnt cause cognitive impairment that works for voices and paranoia? I dont want these problems…

Latuda and vraylar

I dont know of one ap that helps with cognitive impairment. Try taking sarcosine or fish oil for cognitive impairment in addition to your ap.

I’m doing fine on Geodon. I’m an insurance broker and my job involves a heavy cognitive load with a healthy level of multi-tasking.

You also take supplements Mr. Squirrel.

Sarcosine, rosemary oil in the infuser, and Amyloban 3399. The first helps with cognitive boost, second with working memory, last knocks down positive symptoms and reduces negs. Helps me fly on lower dose of AP.

Going off of lithium has definitely improved my cognition. Or maybe it was getting on zoloft

How long did it take to work for you? How long have you been on it? What were your symptoms?

I recently read that Latuda is “distinguished by its high affinity for serotonin 5-HT7 receptors […] The serotonin 5-HT7 receptor is a target of interest that may be associated with the potential for both pro-cognitive and antidepressant effects” https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4706192/

I got that when I was on Seroquel… but I’m on Zyprexa now and I don’t believe it’s causing any cognitive problems. Any problems I have I usually blame on the disease’s negative symptoms.

I take 15mg of Abilify and I don’t notice any cognitive problems. Voices are gone, and it’s made the paranoia manageable. I also take Effexor though, so that could be mitigating any negative effects Abilify would have.

So am I. One of the things I like so much about Geodon and Seroquel is that they don’t dull my mind.

I’m on abilify, or aristada rather, I’m not as “sharp” feeling as when I’m sz but I’m better prepared to deal with society. Sz makes my mind race and it’s fun but tbh it’s not healthy. Part of the issue with sz is too much cognitions sort of, so…you get what I’m saying. Any meds are gonna feel like they slow you down and they do, sz brains move too fast for the world. Sometimes. In some cases. In my case. I just drink a ton of coffee. That helps me, but it’s never gonna be the same high as that time I cracked the code of the universe…and that’s a good thing. Pisses off the universe. If you pee into the abyss long enough, the abyss pees into you.

I’ve not noticed anything cognitively that is not better explained by things like age and premorbid cognitive difficulties .
