Who likes to read?

I am going to start to read more, or at the very least listen to audiobooks.

I mostly read horror and books on psychology, but I’d like to broaden my horizon. I do like fantasy as well, but I’m not lying when I say I couldnt finish the hobbit.

I’m in the middle of Doctoe Sleep, and I hope to finish it before the movie comes out in November. I lost interest, but I plan on picking it up again.

What are your favorite books to read?

I read cozy mystery in my Kindle

My favorite book of all time is Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency. It’s so funny, and it has a lot of seemingly unconnected elements to the plot that all come together at the end and every time I reread it I notice something new. It’s a mystery, but hilarious!

If you like horror, John Dies At The End and its sequels are amazing. Very hilarious, and really freaked me out. I usually hate horror, but I made an exception for these books. Major trigger warnings for violence, sexual assault, and gore

Good Omens is a really clever and fun book with a really happy ending. It also just got turned into a fantastic miniseries. Trigger warning for religious themes.

Someday, Angeline is a kid’s book, but it was the first book I fell in love with at age 8. You can read the whole thing in like an hour.

Slaughterhouse Five is dark, and on one level it’s a philosophical sci-fi book, but on another level it’s all an allegory for living with PTSD. It’s about a guy who got drafted into war. Trigger warnings for violence.

Slaughter house 5 was trippy. I need to read it again, because I feel like I missed a bunch.

Good Omens is definitely on my to read list. I watched the first episode of the series and decided I wanted to read the book first. My sister has read it and she really loved it.

Didnt they make a movie about John dies at the end? I vaguely remember it.

Yeah. The first two thirds of the movie were good, but it fell apart at the end. I’m pissed that they turned the most competent female character of all time into a bland love interest/damsel in distress.

I love reading! The last one I read was King, Warrior, Magician, Lover by Robert Moore and Douglas Gillette. Now I’m reading one about King Hammurabi (book about history).

I take it in spells. There have been times when I was reading a lot. I’ve read every word Shakespeare wrote at least once. I love the scene in “King Lear” where he is raging against the elements and shouting, “I am a man more sinned against than sinning!” I also like John Grisham.

I have always loved reading. I learned to read at 3 years old and have been an avid reader ever since. Currently, I’m primarily reading mystery and detective novels from Scandinavia. There are some exceptional authors from Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Iceland.

LS! I was always a speed reader. I can read up to ten books a day. I am reading The Wheel of Time, fantasy, I am halfway book five. And because I am interested in Buddhist Art I wanted to read The Black Hat Eccentric. But I hesitate to start on it because I saw that on Amazon second hand they ask 500 dollar or more for it. I could sell it instead of reading it. If I read it I damage it a little accidentally probably.

Before dx I read like 3 books a week. I read classics but mainly my passion was fantasy and sci fi. Got meds and sz and flat out read 4 books in ten years…I still have problems with concentration but I’m getting better.

STarted reading Harry Potter. Easy reads and seen the movies so If I missed certain things I’d still get the picture. These days I try to read every night and have managed to read some serious lit. I got through the entire Game Of Thrones series…

Love reading. Mind not so good with it but still enjoy it!

I can’t be too specific or I will get flagged, but I read Christian non-fiction. I recently gave away most of my books to inspire other people who will find them at Goodwill, and I am slowly building a new library with $60 orders at Amazon at a time. I wrote all my favorite passages from my previous books into journals before I gave the books away, so I still have that to reread.

I really love that I can read again. I was on 30 mg of Haldol for four years, and I had really bad concentration problems so I couldn’t even read a magazine article. I am reading whole books again and am so happy!

I love reading. I can’t always focus on it, but there is one series of books I can always focus on.
“Earth’s Children”, also known as the “Clan of the Cavebear” books.

I love them, I always get completely immersed into their universe.

I think I saw in a thread about the witcher that you’ve read those books, sorry if I’m misremembering, but if you did how are they? The games are top notch, and I think wild hunt is one of the best games period. I’m excited for the show too, but are the books worth a read?

I love reading. I’m currently looking through apps
On my phone for free books

I used to. I like reading autobiographies and young adult books and classics.

I rarely read due to schizophrenia. I prefer textbooks but whatever. I dont understand how people can read 1000s of books in their lives.

Yeah @Squanchy the witcher series is quality. Great storytelling and well written. Love the games but the books really are worth reading.
