I might have to change to another antipsychotic but im not sure what one is the best so far i have tried Olanzapine,abilify,quitiapine,respiridone. Olanzapine was the best one out of all of them but it makes me gain weight and im worried im going to be obese so i may ask to change my medication i even gained weight on abilify.

I think it really depends from person to person. But Invega is the drug for me that helps best against the voices. I also take a low dose of clozapine for sleep and Wellbutrin as an AD.

Every antipsychotic has side effects. I put up with Abilify. It keeps me out of hospital.

Absolutly to me Clopixol(1. Gen). I’ve been on that for 27 years as depot. I take a 10 mgs Clopixol pill besides the depo of 400 mg every other week as a sleep aid.
None as of this morning. Took my last Geodon yesterday.

Haloperidol my second best
and risperidone worked well too
Quetiapine (Seraquol) for me. Im on 300mg at night, but also have 50mg twice a day available as a PRN for psychotic anxiety.
When it gets too bad tho - a good injection of Haldol and bed for a day or 2, usually sorts me out.
Also on Invega jab - but i reckon that just keeps me ticking over.

I take Geodon and haven’t gained weight on it. It’s been weight neutral.

I used to always say Invega, but Haldol, which I can afford, is pretty good too. If I could afford it though, I’d go back to Invega

Clozapine for me, but I’m going to ask to be titrated off of it and on to a loxapine plus Vraylar mix…the clozapine makes me want to eat constantly.

Rexulti is best for me but if you are weight sensitive it might not for you I gained 65 lbs on it so far

Olanzapine 20mg worked best for me but led to weight gain but I’d rather gain a bit of weight than be mentally unwell

The best meds for me are: risperidone, quetiapine, and ziprasidone.
Geodon… so far.
As you can se the response to meds is very individual. For some a sudden meds is a bless and for others it’s pure poison. Only trial land error will show you what meds is your wonder portion.
