What Has Been Your Most Physically Painful Experience

Now, this might be too much information for some but for me it was the removal of an IUD contraceptive device. It had been in place for a lot longer than it should have been (like 8 or more years too long).

The Nurse told me that upon removal it may sting a bit. STING! I could feel it ripping away from the sides of my uterus or whatever it had become embedded into. The pain was that excruciating that I totally passed out. Thank goodness the pain was only felt for a matter of seconds before actually passing out though.

I don’t recommend getting one.

I think the symptoms leading up to hernia surgery for me especially the third time I had it were especially excruciating. Stomach pains like I were to die.

There was something else but I remember saying the hernia pains was up there when it happened.

I really have been fortunate to not have many physical problems knock on wood.

Testicular torsion. It’s when the cord in your scrotum twists up cutting off blood supply to your testicle. They say it’s one of the most painful injuries to endure.

Dry socket, as a result of having a tooth with a rather long root taken out . That added to my reluctance to see a dentist unless absolutely necessary for a fair number of years.

Having a infected tooth pulled, hurt like hell. I never want to go back to the dentist.

Oh dear! What horrible pains you have all endured. I feel like a right wimp now.

Not at all. I would imagine it can be a painful experience for quite a few women .

I got hit by a car like 5 years ago walking in the highschool parking lot. People don’t realize how hard cars are, and a car going parking lot speeds can still do some damage

It’s a tie between childbirth and a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. I think when the ectopic pregnancy ruptured I went into shock and I sort of blocked out part of the pain after that. Both things I was given morphine for and I still felt in horrible pain. I don’t know if morphine doesn’t work or if that’s how bad the pain was.

When i was withdrawing from the dreaded alcohol. Not just the sweats but incredibly moody and anxious. And the mental side of it still crops up now and again when the craving is bad - thats when i goto an AA meeting if there is one close by. I hate the mental battles it brings.

The sudden, intense pain I sometimes got when my ulcerative colitis was active. I would end up on the damn floor, sometimes curled up in a ball, praying for death just to make the pain stop. Yeah, bowel pain can be horrible.
