Usually you see them out of the corner of your eye and they are all matte black, you can tell they are not a real person standing there but they startle you anyway. They come with an ominous feeling. That’s for me anyway.

Lately I have seen shadow animals and shadow people. I was driving when a complete black person (not skin color) ran across the street right in front of me. Then it disappeared. Was outside when a shadow cat sat next to me. Even though I knew this was just a shadow animal I had the urge to pet it. I did not because I didn’t want to give in to the delusions.

So it’s just something you see out the corner of your eye? If you focus on it does it disappear?

Mine is sometimes out of the corner of my eye and sometimes when I am directly staring at it. Don’t know what makes it come and go but does not last long for me.

Is it a positive symptoms…!!!

I never seen or heard of them…!!!

@far_cry0 I believe it to be a positive symptoms as it is a form of hallucinations. Until the last couple days the only time I experienced shadow people was when I was 15 and on meth. The no sleeping forever caused shadow people hallucinations but I was fascinated with them then. Use to watch them all the time. Til one day I was in the dark and about 40 of them were in the room with me. I was in so much fear. I stopped being fascinated with them after that.

Aw thank you. That feels good to hear since I have gained 80 lbs. Glad I still look alright. I am so use to being such a skinny little thing.

Shadow people are my main visual hallucination. Basically they’re blacker than black silhouette of a humanoid figure, but sometimes they can appear in different forms such as; black clouds, tall man with a trench coat and fedora, or a hooded cloak looking figure. I’ve heard other people report that they can have red or yellow glowing eyes. In my experience of seeing them I usually catch them in my peripheral vision, but there’s been certain times I’ve seen them full on.

Also some people see shadow people while in sleep paralysis. Usually from what I’ve heard they be curious and watch you, or there’s the others thats malevolent that pins you down to the bed or jumps down you mouth.

Mines a little different I see them not just to the side but right in front. I hear whispers coming from them and I hear foot steps especially outside in the snow when I’m taking trash out at night. I feel someone following me.

I’ve seen shadow people since I was quite young. My mum just said they were spirits that came from a portal in my closet. Wasn’t scared of my closet until that.

I still see shadow people but not as often as I used to. I see shadow animals more often. I’ve seen a shadow frog hopping in front of me, shadow dogs running behind whatever car I’m driving in. I also see shadow figures jumping out in front of vehicles. (one of the reasons I don’t drive)

I used to have a shadow figure of this type stand in the corner of my room, smoking a cigarette and watching me, every night, when I was in the hospital.
Not going to lie, I miss that. Nowadays, the figures have changed to becoming frightening, often morbid, and they get closer to me.
When I’m medicated, they don’t come around as much, and if they do, they’re less bothersome.

I should also mention, my shadow people don’t seem to be wearing any clothes. Just the silhouette of a person. Usually they’re quite tall, 7 ft.

And the black, it’s not dark like shadows, or smoke. It’s like the colour of void. So black it seems to suck up other colours. It’s a shade of black I don’t see anywhere else.

Oh my, way to traumatize a child for life… :frowning:
I can relate to this. I sometimes have the figures jumping in front of the vehicle when I’m driving. There will be dozens of them, standing in a line, down the side of the road. They all take turns jumping out in front of me, in a row.
Have you told anyone about this?
I’m too scared to myself, in case they don’t let me get my license.

The colour is like vantablack, the darkest material in the world. It absorbs all but 0.035 percent of visual light. Scientists created it themselves I believe.

What’s really revolutionary about this Vantablack is that it’s a color the human eye has never seen before. It’s pretty much like the colour of a black hole, I call it void.

I’ve told my Pdoc, GP, and therapist all about this. I also let the person driving the car know if I’m comfortable with them.

That’s why I don’t drive. Even if I know what I see isn’t real, I still think if something jumped out on the road when I was driving I would instinctually swerve off the road or into oncoming traffic.

So I don’t drive. I have less of a carbon footprint. Saving the world one anxiety at a time, lol.

Lol, theres some good, positive thinking.
I guess I’m lucky that they don’t bother me that much. I know they aren’t real, too, they just make me a little nervous and slightly distracted when driving. I’ve only ever told one of my friends, but she still lets me drive. She asks me if I’m okay, every few minutes though, which gets a little annoying, haha.

Wow, this is the colour exactly.
Kind of spooky to see it, here, in an image…

Two of them ran into me on purpose when I jumped up out of my hiding spot in the hallway.
They hit me as they ran past and knocked me down, I turned to see them run into my office where I had been with the light still on and door open- and they ran directly in and slammed the door shut-and locked!

I ran into the adjacent room, looked out the window in time to see them running from the open window into the backyard and over the fence.
