Weight gain?

Every time I go to get my invega injection I weigh more at the doctor’s office. I’m not sure what to do to keep this weight off because it’s happening so fast. Does anyone have tips on how you kept the weight off or how you lost weight?

Eat less and move around more.

i went from 132 lbs. to 170 pounds during my first year and half of invega. at first i was really hungry and eating was like the only pleasure i had. but i slowly started to lose weight by eating twice a day and walking. im down to about 146 pounds would be my guess now i’ve been on invega about 4 years now.

i just have coffee in the morning, skip breakfast, and then eat lunch and dinner. that has been what’s worked for me. im starting to get concerned im losing too much weight though.

I am currently eating nutrient dense foods with portion control.

Its working

I don’t even exercise

Every weight scale is different. I gained 150lb since I was put on meds 8 years ago at 21 y.o.

Went from 187 to 290 within a year

Exercise is good for overall health but watching food intake is much better for weight loss.

I’m on latuda and seroquel. I eat vegan to maintain my weight. It is the only thing that has worked for me. I have a bmi of 24.9

I’ve been staying steady at about 230 lbs on Clozapine and Haldol. That’s not too bad for someone who is a bit over six feet.

I’m vegan, too. Proud of you

I went Swimming every day, even if you just floating around in the pool daydreaming.

Also cutting out beer, sweets smoking .

Try not to eat too much. But I know it’s really dificult not to eat when a medication makes you feel hungry. That happened to me when I was on Risperdal. So I asked my psychiatrist if he could change my medication. I told him I didn’t want to get fat, because that would make me feel devastated for the rest of my life. So he was so comprehensive and prescribed me another medication.
