Hi. So Im skizoaffective. Are anyone here overweight because of medication? Im at a 4 months hospilazation, No joke, and the 3rd time this year. Im 220 pounds and have gained 5 pounds in a week since Invega sustenna injektion. I think its water retention though.

I was 235 (at 5’10") on Paliperidone (pill form of Invega,) managed to lose 15 pounds on the MacDougall diet but I’ve been stuck at 220 pounds for a few weeks now. Need to adhere to the diet better.

I gain weight on APs and have a very difficult time losing weight.

Did you start with invega pills?
I am on invega sustenna too. Been on it for 2 years 5 months now. I am 5’5 205 pounds. I have gained 20lbs since being on it. But I don’t work out and I overeat alot when I am bored. I will have to try the gym again soon.
When on AP everybody is very prone to have weight problems.

It does sound like water weight this week because that is way too fast. However you can always gain weight with antipsychotics. Sometimes others won’t cause weight gain like another. If you put on way too much weight in sbshort amount of time it may be time for s different medication. If you got the injection you will have to wait a bit.

One of the problems with Invega is that it messes with hormones like testosteron, and also you get more female hormones. I get lazy.
I lost two pounds!! I think it’s because I cut out the cookies and I’m eating more fruit.
