it’s easy, most people can do it. only problem is it takes hours to actually burn a lot of calories.
I used to have a job picking products in a warehouse where I had to walk 8 hours a day. I weighed 125 pounds by the time I was done.

What weight did you start at? Also how long did you work there.
my pre med weight was 142. I got down to 125 pounds in about 8 months working in a warehouse. I put the weight back on after I quit. usually I would stay about 140 pounds from the age of 15 to 32.
also I was not eating as much, sometimes only a big dinner after my shift. I would sleep too long to get breakfast and I wouldn’t pack a lunch. just wake up, get dressed, and commute to work.
Walking is not bad if you are motivated enough to do it.
I prefer running but can’t so I currently do something in between the two.
Walking brings up the heart rate to about 100 beats per minute (bpm). Jogging, about 130 bpm and running 150bpm. My resting heart rate (rhr) is between 60-80 bpm. So, the higher the heart rate for a longer duration, the more calories you burn.
For the speeds of travel:
3.5mph or 5.6km/h for walking
4.5mph or 7.2km/h for jogging
5.5mph or 8.9km/h for running
Walking is great for you. It’s simple weight bearing exercise and it’s good for you. Three times of 30 minutes a week is great and a good starting point.
Yes. For most of us to move weight it’s eating good and it’s raising that heart rate. @anon35453467 is on the money on some decent parameters of training.
For me it was all about getting a fitbit. It keeps track of these things and I find it invaluable for all my recent success in health mentally and physically. It really was a great thing getting on board and starting to exercise!
Hello, what model fitbit are you using?
Started with the charge 2 and moved up to the Ionic.
Could have gotten an Apple watch for a bit more dollars but have an iphone. I don’t need the apps of an apple watch so decided on the Ionic. It’s great for me and I’m very happy with it’s function. It does everything I expect of it and it’s a great way of keeping tabs on my attempts to get fit!
If your new to it all a charge 2 or equivalent is a great device. Cheaper is probably the way to go before you need anything other than heartrate and steps. You have those and it’s pretty cool!
It is great having the south west coastal path right next to where I live. I get out on it all the time.
You are lucky that is pretty good.
I know someone in Plymouth that is quite close to Cornwall too right, they’ve got coast there aswell.
Yes it extends all the way through Devon
And walking is free plus you get the fresh air and sunshine
