I’m having a hard time getting to sleep. I took my first pill of Vyvanse yesterday. Anyone have personal experience or any tips for sleep?

Stimulants can cause insomnia. Take it in the morning instead?

I don’t have a difficulty anymore. My Clozapine is responsible for this. Do you do any physical exercise during the day? I find that a bit of exercise tires me out.

I didn’t get a single second of sleep last night. It’s now 8:31. AM here now.

What mg did you take. Vyvanse is only supposed to last about ten hours according to google.
I’m not surprised it makes it difficult to sleep As if normally but staying up all night damn…

@Jonnybegood - I’m taking 20 mg capsules right now.
You may build up some tolerance to it as time goes on. I wouldn’t wanna keep taking it if I can’t sleep though. Is it possible to split in half?? You can ask your pdoc I think some people take 10. Did it help you concentrate yesterday?? Is it worth to keep taking based on your day yesterday. If so maybe 10 mg would be better. I would ask your pdoc what you should do though because that’s an adverse reaction imo.

I know it sounds weird, but you might try a cup of coffee and see if that helps you fall asleep. Sometimes I can’t sleep and coffee does the trick. My daughter took Vyvanse and didn’t sleep much. It’s a stimulant so it keeps you up, it’s one of the side effects unfortunately. She did get used to it somewhat after she took it for awhile so don’t give up just yet.

You may want to tell ur psychiatrist if this continues and maybe get a sleep aid or something.

I had insomnia from Wellbutrin. I stopped it, no more insomnia.

@Wave - I just got diagnosed with ADHD at 25 years old. So yes that’s why I’m taking it.

@TheStrange - I plan to take some melatonin tonight to help me sleep. Also maybe I just need some time to adjust to the new med, and then the insomnia will leave

Yes allow some time to adjust to the med.
