Vitamin Pregnenolone - New Treatment for Schizophrenia - anyone trying it?

It’s great but I developed chest pains so I stopped it.

How long did you take it for?

Probably a couple months. I just took supplements without thinking.

I really don’t take that many anymore.

What’s the half-life of Pregnenolone? How long does it last?

No clue. Sorry.

I’m kinda confused why it’s so cheap.

Dude, this stuff is awesome.

I can actually comprehend sports and movies. The only drawback is that I got 7 hours of sleep. I guess it isn’t that big of a deal.

How is getting 7 hours of sleep a drawback? Are you still tired and not getting enough? Is it too much?

I usually get around 10 hours of sleep. I go to bed pretty early and usually wake up around 4-6 am. Today I woke up around 2 am. Like I said it isn’t that big of a deal. It just isn’t normal for myself to sleep 7 hours instead of 10. I can get used to it though.

I woke up today and immediately took Pregnenolone. I’ve been awake for probably 14 hours and experienced issues with reading. I took L Theanine and I was back at it, reading. Minor issue.

I’ve been taking Pregnenalone for about 5 years but not every day. I have about 15mg every 3 or 4 days. It definitely is a top supplement in my SZA war chest. I helps my cognition and mood enough that i will continue taking it the rest of my life. The ones i buy are 50mg tablets so for 15mg i just take a bite off the tablet each time i dose it. I have read to not take it every day and not take 50mg a dose. Works best at a lower dosage. High doses daily can lead to hair loss. The dose is the poison as they say. I am careful with this one as misuse could probably screw your system up.

Welcome @Salamander. Appreciate your input.
Re Pregnenalone -Any side effects - some have said it can cause hair loss.
Also what are the other useful supplements in your SZA war chest?

thanks @unaventures. War Chest: PQQ, NAC, Pterostilbene, Fish Oil, Activated Homocysteine, L-Carnosine, Meriva Curcumin, Quercetin, D3, Sodium Benzoate, these are the ones i am taking today. I feel much better than i used to.

Cool bananas! There’s some novel stuff there that I havent tried.

How would you describe Pterostilbene I heard it was used along with NAD as some sort of anti aging SIRT activator… any psychoactive qualities by itself ?

Also Activated Homocysteine sounds rad. Did you get any gene test to determine your methylation? Also what does it feel like if at all? Kinda like SAMe or totally diff?

L-Carnosine also is one I keep meaning to try always get it confused with Carnitine (which I take everyday - also considered injecting to see the diff as you can get injectables)

Sounds like you may have tried a few things to hone it down to the “best of the lot”. Nice daily stack. Let us know if the Sodium Benzoate plays well with this lot.

Pterostilbene is similar to resveratrol. Yes i take it with Niagen. Being 50 now i added that one and it stopped my brain fogs and anxiety so I am pleased with it. The activated Homocysteine is to treat my MTHFR gene mutations ie. methylation. It is the active forms of B6 Folate and B12 plus a methyl donor. I had my 23andme genetics done then ran the raw data at promethease and geneticgenie and found out that most b vitamins are even toxic to someone with the MTHFR gene mutations. Carnosine is one you can’t really feel they say but it seems to help with my focus and energy.

After almost 2 weeks of being on Pregnenolone I really like this stuff. I take 50 mg of the brand MRM. I’m sleeping great now. Along with the NAC it seems to be doing an amazing job with schizophrenic symptoms.

Does it work well for anhedonia?
