I take Vitamin D even though I’m outside for a couple of hours per day. I also take sarcosine, Vitamin B, L-Theanine, and Amyloban 3399. I constantly have rosemary essential oil going in a diffuser in my home as the scent has been proven to aid with memory retrieval. Rounding this out with homemade probiotics (I ferment my own sauerkraut), psyllium husk, and a multivitamin.

Food doesn’t have the nutrients it used to have.
@shutterbug There is only certain bacteria in Sauerkraut. The intestinal flora needs all kinds of bacteria. I eat to many carbohydrates and only one kind of bacteria likes it and you don’t want so many of them.

Homebrew sauerkraut contains more strains than most commercially available probiotics and also in greater concentrations. (This varies depending on time after fermentation as well.) I have had several registered dietitions recommend naturally fermented foods over purchasing probiotic supplements. This is in additon to a healthy and varied diet which should provide additional sources of bacteria…

I live in Germany and there are all kinds of Sauerkraut for sale in the markets. But it has to taste good and be fresh. There are also many probiotics. I had a subscription by a Dr. many years ago that had to be stored in the fridge and that was very good. I only take Psyllium seed husks currently.

I take vitamin D cuz living half the year in darkness makes it impossible to get the necessary sunlight to produce it. I also take vitamin B 12 since my intestines were altered 20 years ago, and iron since I don’t eat enough to maintain normal levels…these were all suggested by my doc.

You can take a multivitamin it has vit d like 800ui but if its low in your blood test like me you will need high doses like 5000ui. My dr initially prescribed me 2500ui but blood lvl was still low so he doubled the dose. Waiting on next blood test. Its good to see a dr, not only a psychiatrist.

I mean you don’t need a pdoc for vitamin d and that its good to see a gp do blood tests etc regularly. I go twice a year.

Yes, I take 5000IU vitamin D. It’s really good to calm intrusive thoughts in my case as well. I also take a lot of other supplements to fight cognitive decline and also for sleep.

I use a “daylight” bulb to synthesize Vitamin D indoors. It cost me $30. Doesn’t give you a tan though, so if I don’t go outside at least weekly and get one I turn a bit greenish. Ick.

For supplements, I take vitamin D3, vitamin E, fish oil, lutein + zeaxanthin, and Sleep 3 at night (melatonin with calming herbs).
