Video Game Thread 8.0

Hey, I am doing a lot better. I realized I need to look for full cover instead of partial if I can, and instead of just ending turns I need to use Overwatch I think. There doesn’t seem to be a good reason to end a turn when you can just use Overwatch but I’m used to games that don’t have Overwatch.

I just finished the Gangplank mission and got a TON of Elerium and Alloy.

Using Overwatch got me enough extra shots on enemies to make the difference.

I got an achievement for clearing a UFO on Classic with one soldier, and another for using an all female team (by using one female soldier). I used my best sniper and she nailed a crit on an 18% chance shot on the first Outsider I’ve ever seen, killing him in one shot. I got through the whole crash site with no injuries it was awesome!

Street Fighter 6 Open Demo is live this weekend on Playstation, Xbox, and PC. Looks like they are bringing back focus attacks from 4 and ditching V-Guage from 5, that makes me very happy! Gonna skip Diablo and pick up Street Fighter! I have a feeling it will be less monetized.

@schizophrenisaurus my soldiers are decked out in titan armor with plasma weapons, we just finished the Overseer UFO, and I’m working on covering the last few countries with satellites. I just found out Enemy Within is an expanded version of the same exact campaign… it was gonna be a DLC but was too big to qualify so they just did a re-release. Oh well, I’m not sure how I like the idea of a resource that you have to rush out of cover to get. Anyway I’m gonna try to get all the cheevos for this one, though I’m not looking forward to Ironman on Classic.

I’m playing mobile game on the PC called Mech Arena. They really really shove the shop in your face every time you get in, but its a decent waste of time. I enjoy positioning more then hardcore shooting accuracy, so its scratching that itch.

I’m still playing dwarf fortress

Been playing Deceive Inc. fun battle royal with a slight bend towards deception and a fun spy theme.

Have you tried the Steam version of Dwarf Fortress? I would have bought it, but it doesn’t have Adventure mode yet and that’s half the fun for me.

I bought it on release, its been great.

The UI was always a pain point for me, and the graphics are pretty freaking stellar, I have no complaints about trying to figure out what something is.

I waited patiently for it to come out, and I wanted to be part of a big push to get the brothers a welcome financial reward for their work, and they got insane sales. I hope that adventure mode comes quick because I think it will be a awesome experience.

Agreed, the ascii graphics are horrible. I used it in its free version with a graphics mod that helped a little but my god was the UI horrifying. A real relic from the age of keyboard only control schemes. Adventure mode though, is really awesome. I wish someone would take the concept and streamline it for modern machines like they did with XCOM and Sid Meier’s Pirates!

I’m guessing that’s kinda what the Steam release is, and they do plan on releasing adventure mode later.

Oh man, I I’m looking forward to Street Fighter 6 as well. The prices are worrisome though. I mean which version will include Guy? Will they sell characters as dlc? Are there performance boosters for created characters?

As for classic games being remade, I’ve been hoping Jagged Alliance 3 turns out to be good. I’m pretty sure I’m going to get Street Fighter 6, dunno which version yet.

I’m also considering purchasing Final Fantasy 16.

Just started playing Skyrim. I recommend it.

I’m waiting for the Diablo 4 release in a few days. That should keep me occupied for a while until I get my job / education goals figured out.

Waiting for d4 too. I wanted to play a barb (ez mode) but last time I checked they were pretty bad.
I just want to explore the game in easy mode lol

If you like skyrim I strongly recommend you to play oblivion. It’s the elder scrolls game that was just before skyrim. Better in every aspect imo… skyrym felt somewhat empty in comparisson. Especially the shivering isles expansion.

Morrowind is also great, but you need to don’t mind old graphics (and mechanics)

I decided to start playing genshin impact and I’m finding it a pretty fun time. The gacha game aspect of it makes me feel a bit unsure though

a few days ago i picked up super street fighter 4: arcade edition plus ultra sfiv dlc. i know the online is prob dead as its an xbox 360 title but it was a good deal under $8 altogether. i will probably get sf6 too when its out. there is no sf5 for xbox but i used to play the hell out of injustice 2 and dabbled in mk11 but never had access to sf5 as its not on xbox

Anyone else looking forward to dragons dogma 2?

Finished up Pokemon Scarlet and just started Pokemon Legends: Arceus. The game is pretty amazing so far. I picked Cyndaquil as my starter.

I’m not up to date on the new Pokemon. What element is your starter? Fire, water, etc? :bug::bug::bug:

Fire type. Named him Cinnamon. Cyndaquil is an old starter from Gold and Silver but they chose 3 already existing starters for this game.
