Hello everyone! This is a thread for everything relating to video games. PC games, console games, even mobile games. Hopefully everyone is enjoying some of this year’s many releases, it’s been a huge year for video games, especially western RPG games!
the past few days ive only gamed an hour or so. the days are so short, new forza motorsport looks amazing tho, hopefully it supports all racing wheel accessories day one, but i think it will as every other forza game does. but day one launches have been tragic for alot of games in the last few years
I been jammin’ on Starfield, but letting my Street Fighter skill gather rust. They just started Phase 1 tournaments with titles for prizes, and I want one, but I need some practice and I’m gonna take a few weeks off from SF6 to explore more of Starfield. It’s such a beautiful game. I landed on a moon next to a gas giant with rings, and this was a BIG gas giant that was very close to the moon, so from the surface of the moon you saw the planet it was orbiting in the sky and it was HUGE in the sky! Simply because that’s how far away that planet is. It varies by system and there are so many systems.
There’s no HDR support but they are adding it in the first few patches, can’t wait, HDR really makes the colors pop!
I’m gonna be very careful talking about it to avoid any spoilers. I haven’t even advanced the story yet myself, I’m just doing what I do in every Bethesda game, noping out of the main quest immediately and exploring everything on my own until I’m max level.
I’ve been meaning to give a racing franchise a shot @cigarino but Forza bothers me cuz don’t they delist each one when a new one comes out?
im not completely sure. ive only played forza motorsport 4 which i have as a disc for xbox 360, and forza horizon 4 and 5. i dont like horizon that much because its open world basically feels like gta with no action. none of the forza motorsport or horizon games on xbox 360 are backwards compatible and cant be bought from store, i think its due to licensing with the cars, if you own any you can still play but once the license ends they cant sell the game except for physical copies second hand
I may buy The Crew Motorfest, it came out today and gameplay looks awesome, you can drive both cars and motorcycles. I am currently installing the free 5h trial. The game is fully crossplay too.
Actually had some time to game a bit so been getting into Starfield. I always play around with Bethesda games early as I don’t like getting too far along the story either. So much to do and I like to tinker with builds.
Played a soldier but getting back into a diplomat. I won’t give away spoilers but I’m enjoying the experience and think it’s a decent game out of the box. Had one crash but it was probably more the steam overlay than the game which is pretty good for a bethesda title.
It’s good fun.
I play these games the same way. Everyone is talking about the ending a week after it launches, I’m like you sat down to a multiple course meal and went straight for the dessert? You left all the other courses untouched!
I’ll probably get around to the main quest at level 1,000 after exploring for a calendar year lol.
Avoiding spoilers has been important, I swear I won’t spill a word on this forum. I’m just having fun with the game despite the problems some people have with it.
I’ve not read one review or hit any discussion boards. Missed all the trailers too. Just hitting it with no expectations and I think it’s a great game so far. I can probably see why some people would have problems with it but honestly it’s enjoyable to me and I’ve restarted it three times haha. I get to about level 10 and learn more of the systems and how to prioritise things and start again.
It was worth the price to me at $120 Aussie. Every other tripleA title on steam for PC is about $90 so it was a big chunk of my entertainment budget but it’s been fun so far.
Finished the Scarlet/Violet DLC. Was way better than what I was expecting.
I got the Xbox Game Pass for PC just to try out Starfield. Only an hour in, but it seems pretty solid so far. I despised the ship tutorial. Was flying around like an idiot XD
got a month of ubisoft plus to play the crew motorfest. it is fun i played the intro races with controller and slept then today did an event using my logitech wheel
I was wrong about the crew motorfest, its not fully crossplay, only crossplay in random matchmaking. But the game is good.
im kinda sad that i buy games and shop more than i am able to play. like i get a boost for a day when i buy a new game or device, but despite my huge amount of free time im struggling to play more than 15 minutes when i play solo.
when i play with friends i can play an hour or sometimes more, maybe the social aspect helps, but i feel like my brains broken that single player games have been seemingly impossible for me to play for a decent amount of time.
i think back to 2016 when i used to play for hundreds of hours effortlessly, now i have completed games this year but for some reason i cant consistently play or focus when playing alone especially recently, ive been through alot of changes over the mentally and life wise i wonder if a combination of things have permanently changed my brain, because now i struggle to stick with anything, and things i used to be able to do, i no longer seem to be able to. i have a love for gaming but it kinda sucks when i have time to do it but feel like i cant
I hear you man. I buy games out of IP loyalty so I can get the pre order bonus and play them later, but many of them I don’t get around to. I also buy PC versions, my PC isn’t great enough to play the AAA games but I buy them anyway sometimes. Here’s a few games I’ve bought but not touched:
Dead Island 2
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
The Last of Us 1 and 2
Spider - Man : Miles Morales
Cyberpunk 2077
Lately I’m starting to skip big releases and blacklist devs that are too greedy. I’m done with Blizzard, Ubisoft, and Electronic Arts, and most releases Square Enix does. So no Diablo or modern Final Fantasies. I’m getting better about this.
We’re spoiled for choice compared to even 15 years ago, there are just so many indie games now.
Bethesda needs to adjust how jumping works in Starfield. In Super Mario Brothers for the NES, you can jump shorter or higher heights depending on how long you hold down the jump button for. On Starfield, you do a max height jump with even the slightest button press. On low gravity planets this means traveling a mile into the sky as a result of trying to hop over a 2 foot railing.
I’m amazed there’s no option for a “short hop” on low grav planets. I’m hoping this will be a modded in feature. Still a great game though.
i used to own one game at a time and play it till it broke or had no content left, then id trade into gamestop to buy a new game, now i have huge backlog and buy games just because they are on sale for a limited time
having fun playing gameboy advance racing games on my powkiddy v90 clamshell handheld (it basically is a gba sp clone that runs linux). i played mario kart super circuit which i have played for years at this point, but also tried out crash nitro kart and konami krazy racers, they are all kart racer mario kart style games but are great to kill time as a cup is like 4 races and gives sense of completion once the podiums roll out, they can get very challenging when upping the speed and difficulty, and the aspect of collecting coins during race being added to the rating at the end makes it like a multi task
Alls I got to say is Starfield is good. Lots of systems and learning for someone who has just rushed in without any guides or reviews. Has a lot of depth and it’s a fun thing to tinker with player builds but the gameplay on the whole is quite good.
It’s polished and a bit of fun and I’m enjoying learning how things work together. I just realised that I need to sleep more in the game ( a common thing with bethesda games but it’s worth the effort) and it’s things like that that get me back to playing more.
I’m still only just over level 10 but I’ve restarted a couple of times as I’ve got a hang on what is going on as there’s a lot to deal with in the game. Sure you could finish it pretty quick but there’s so much stuff there even with all the fast travelling which I don’t mind. Space is big and I’d imagine travelling in reality to be incredibly boring.
Anyone else here waiting for the Meta Quest 3 to be released? I’ve got some $$$ set aside for it.
My favorite thing to do is saving money and buying ships. I haven’t even messed with the ability to build them yet.
