I worked out hard yesterday and am sore today. But I had extra calories yesterday and I probably need to burn more calories today. Should I workout?

Maybe you can do something light, like an easy walk, just to flush your muscles out, keep moving, and not get stiff. Or you can workout a different muscle group than yesterday. It’s not good to do a hard workout lifting weights or other strength training two days in a row. Just listen to your body.
I voted No but it depends. What kind of workout did you do? If it was a full body workout you have to give your muscles time to heal after the work out. If you do work out today, work muscle groups you didn’t use yesterday.
It might be better to take a small break today @LilyoftheValley
Your body needs rest from time to time also
That’s a good idea. I did the rowing machine yesterday on the highest resistance and my core is really sore. I suppose I could walk uphill on the treadmill today, and maybe use the elliptical.
Go easy. Maybe keep it flatter than usual.
I did rowing machine which is a full body workout, plus I did a thirty minute circuit of all the muscle groups
I took a weight lifting gym class in high school. Every day of the week we would work a different muscle group. The teacher told us it was important to give each muscle group some time to heal after stressing it. I trust what he said because he was a former Olympian.
Good advice @Headspark
Thanks @anon21849028 @Headspark @Pandy @Wave my husband was Mr Michigan. He agrees that I should train muscle groups and rotate which ones. He also agrees you can overtrain.
Being sore is generally not an obstacle to working out. Unless it’s basically just too painful to bother. But rotate your muscle groups.
Yes, but work out different areas today, compared to yesterday.
I would just do stretching today if you’re sore…then you can go back to working out later.
I did a whole body workout yesterday. If I go, I’m just going to do cardio I decided.
I put no because I think it’s best that you let your body/muscles heal but if you want to do something light or work out something that is not sore I think that that would be fine too.
May I ask your age @LilyoftheValley?
I’m 44 years old @Wave
Oh that’s young.
Working out shouldn’t be an obstacle
Thanks! I like being considered young! Lol
