Been taking this for 5 days. I’ve felt more energetic and seem to be sleeping better at a dose of 3-400mg daily.
I’m not going to go overboard reviewing this at early stages, but it seems promising.
CoQ10 is a substance important for the whole body. especially heart and brain. It’s main function is to produce energy in the cells, and help convert food into energy.
AP’s and AD’s are proven to deplete CoQ10.
It’s a fairly expensive supplement. So I might stop amyloban and go for this instead. I can’t afford both.
If you are taking blood thinners you should probably avoid this supplement as it can make them work less.
Dude I was reading about this supplement years ago and how Zyprexa is depleting it. But I didn’t trust the information 100% because there was no sources IIRC.
Among antipsychotic medications, Aripiprazole (Abilify), Quetiapine (Seroquel), and Risperidone (Risperdal) are known to deplete Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) the most. These drugs have been shown to have a significant impact on reducing CoQ10 levels in the body, potentially leading to symptoms associated with CoQ10 deficiency.

CoQ10 can lower blood sugar levels, so people with diabetes should monitor their blood sugar levels closely while taking it or avoid the supplement altogether.
However, a number of limitations including low adherence, modest sample size, and attrition, likely reduce estimates of effects. As such, results should be considered preliminary.
Maybe opt for a small dose like 100mg if you want to try it. You could even get it at 30mg, but at such a low dose I don’t think it does much. The body is supposed to produce somewhere between 500-1500mg on its own when it is not impaired.
Sounds like a good idea. How are you doing, do you still get a little boost in energy and better sleep? I’m getting mine tomorrow, will report any potential effects.
Makes sense to me that it would happen, if it’s true that zyprexa depletes it. And you can’t get significant amounts from food either, so it maybe means the coq10 are getting to a more normal level, just guessing.
It’s could also be a possibility that the chest thing you’re feeling is the body getting used to higher levels and that it would disappear with time. But I think you’re smart to play it safe, and go down to 100mg.
I had to back down on the dose thursday last week. I think it built up in my system. Has a half life of a little over 30 hours I believe. I think 100mg will be the correct dose for me moving forward.
