Anyone try CoQ10?

I’ve been searching brain damage done by antipsychotics for the past hour and I found this website. It was pretty helpful. I’m definitely going to try CoQ10. Did it work for any of you?

This is the CoQ10 I’m going to try,

Hello, @TheBest could you kindly copy paste the website address for me ? I can’t open the link above. I’m curious what the 7 important nutrients depleted are.

Thanks for the info! I already take a B-complex which includes B2, B6, B12 and folic acid. I also take magnesium (because I thought it would make me sleep). I got off melatonin because I was worried that my brain would become dependent on it and normally, it would make melatonin on its own. I also used to take CoQ10 because I was recommended it for my migraines. But then stopped when I started taking migraine meds. Perhaps I will start it again. Thanks again for the info. It was a good article.

Can you link me to a reputable source / study that says antipsychotics cause brain damage? I’m interested to know. My pdoc and his associates don’t support this hypothesis.

I personally do not think meds cause brain damage. In fact research shows taking antidepressants will help the growth of new brain cells. Since I got on antipsychotics, my negatives and cognitives have in fact been getting better.

I take coq10, I think it helps with my symptoms. It declines in your body as you age as well so taking it is an anti-aging therapy too.

Sorry I didn’t link that again I was sleeping. As for a reputable source I just use myself as an example. I got off meds for a year. Got back on them and I felt a huge cognitive decline. It’s harder for me to write. Harder for me to pay attention. Harder for me to focus. Harder for me to concentrate. At one point when I watched TV I couldn’t comprehend anything. I feel a lot more incompetent. I know it has a lot to do with stopping the antipsychotic. If I didn’t the stop the antipsychotic I wouldn’t be in such bad shape.

Someone else had already given me the link for that website, however I still appreciate your paying attention to my request. @TheBest

Be hopeful about taking antipsychotics and supplements as well. I’ve seen 2-3 SZ friends who had stayed on their particular antipsychotics for more than 8 years. They told me at first they got serious side effects from the meds but the side effects subsided gradually and after taking the same meds more than 8 years they felt much better, including losing weight, better energy, better congnition. They had not take supplements except for fish oils…the meds these 3 SZ friends have been taken are Perphenazine, Risperidol, Invega respectively.

I’m going to try CoQ10 on Monday. Hopefully it works.

I take seroquel.

It’s the only supplement I need.

You guys are on a wild goose chase.

NAC has really helped me.

NAC did nothing for me at all. I’m glad it’s helped you.

Maybe nobody was using mind control on you before?

Huh? I took it to treat my brain disease. If you think someone is using mind control on you you should tell your pdoc

So you bought supplements in the past and none of them have worked for you?

Only what my Pdoc has recommended. Fish oil. The only other supplement he recommended was NAC but it didn’t have any effect on me.

Has your pdoc recommended any of these herbs? They tend to have read research.
