I tried to take CoQ10 30 mg yesterday, it didn’t work out in my case, I felt a little bit sedated and almost dizzy, it probably lowerd my blood pressure. I won’t take it anymore…
How’s it going with the ubiquinol?
I started taking melatonin and the coq10 at the same time, I have felt slightly more rested but I’m guessing that’s mostly the melatonin. It might be that the coq10 has some effect too. I’m only at 100mg. Maybe I can try higher.
edit: Not the smartest to start two new supplements at the same time, I know. You can’t be sure which is affecting you, or if both.
I read 100-200mg daily usually gives optimal levels in the body.
Well, it definitly affects me positive. I am able to think deeper and more imaginative, and it helps out with sleep.
Currently on 100mg daily.
I started melatonin and coq10 at the same day. Now I don’t know what’s causing improved sleep. It’s possible it could be the coq10 too. Great that it’s helping you.
I will probably just continue taking both, not knowing what helps me with what. lol…
I need to investigate further if it’s true that zyprexa reduces natural production of melatonin. ChatGPT said it did, but then I found out ChatGPT is often wrong. Do you know anything about this?
I found this
Melatonin
Some people report that how much sleep they get affects how severe their schizophrenia symptoms are. Melatonin, a hormone that controls sleep-wake cycles, may encourage quality shut-eye.
It seems that people with schizophrenia have higher sleep efficiency when they take melatonin. In other words, they’re asleep for most of the time they’re in bed. They may also sleep more deeply.
Since melatonin also helps calm your body’s stress response, some researchers think it may relieve stress-related symptoms such as paranoid thoughts, too.
It is likely that a antipsychotics like zyprexa affects melatonin negatively considering it depletes a lot of other nutrients, although I haven’t researced melatonin and ap’s specifically.
A lot of people with sz who are taking ap’s are struggling with sleep. It would be logical to assume that the drugs are responsible for this in many cases.
Feeling more rested ever since i started coq10 and melatonin. The tiredness I feel in the morning doesn’t last as long, I feel awake sooner after waking up.
I’m sure it’s either the coq10 or the melatonin, or perhaps both. It bothers me slightly that I don’t know which is affecting me how, but not enough to stop taking one and see.
Been noticing a decrease in brain fog and more energy. It’s nice to feel that, as I felt like I was in a constant state of brain fog before.
@Mr_Hope Off topic, but do you think vitaminD 50 micrograms is safe amount to take?
I plan to go get 10-20 minutes of sun on clear sky days, while supplementing when overcast, and in the winter.
Yes, that is a not a high dose. I have been taking 125mcg for several years without problems. We are all different ofcourse, but 50mcg should be well tolerated by the vast majority of people.
Since ubiquinol is helping me I decided to add some other supplements to my stack. Ubiquinol is a energy supplement, so I started looking for other energy supplements. I added Creatine and D-ribose. Creatine is mostly associated as a excersise/bodybuilding supplement, but it is good for energy in general. I do feel energy has been better since starting it. D-ribose works synergistically with Creatine, which in turn works synergistical with ubiquinol. I might cycle it at some point since there are mixed messages online. Some say to take a couple weeks break every 6 weeks, but I also found a article saying it had been found safe to use up to 5 years.
How did the chest pain you got from coq10 feel?
I’ve been getting chest pain when breathing or coughing, a sharp pain. It lasts for a little while then usually goes away.
Hard to describe, a little annoying pain in the center of the chest, independent of coughing or breathing. It went away when I started taking 100mg every other day instead of every day.
