Trying not to eat anything

I’ve eaten my 1400 calories for the day. I want to eat something right now, but I’m fighting it. My weight gain problem has been binge eating in the evening.

Eat carrot sticks with mustard. 0 calories or close to it.

I mostly fast during the day. Then eat at night. It’s probably not as healthy as eating 3 meals a day. My diet works for me though.

Also I’d recommend incorporating some exercise. I walk about 30-45 mins a day.

I can’t really fast during the day because of my diabetes medication. I get low blood sugar if I do. I try to walk as much as I can with my arthritis that hurts.

Oh wow sorry didn’t realize that. Just do what you can.

It’s ok. I would be nice if I could go out in the evening when I don’t hurt as much, but it’s not safe to go outside at night in the downtown area I live. Not everyone is bad, but the hoodlums like to target the elderly with their Social Security checks (I’m 61).

Try oatmeal for something quick and filling. You can add any fruit, banana, blueberries, apples, etc.

5 baby carrots is 35 calories. Just a heads up

I don’t have any low calorie foods right now. Maybe a salad would be nice if I could find some low calorie dressing.

Also if you’re male you should eat a minimum of 1500 calories per day

I’m a guy. I saw where everhopeful said that www.calculator.net said I need to eat 1400 to lose 2lbs a week. I messaged.my doctor to see if it was okay with her. The calculator takes age, gender, height, weight, and activity level into account.

I haven’t heard from her yet, but she usually gets back to me in a day or two. I’ll do whatever she recommends. It shouldn’t hurt for a couple of days. I just started today.

Air popped popcorn, plain with no butter or salt. Excellent source of fiber too. Fruit, veggies with fat free or low fat dip. Cheese sticks. Yogurt.

Low fat or non fat cheese. Cheese sticks are more convenient but a hunk of cheese is OK too.

Low sodium, low fat crackers.

All good snacks and most are healthy.

Look online for healthy smoothie recipes.

Thanks 77nick77. It looks like I can only have few carrots though I best as I can determine two regular raw carrots are 52 calories. The salad may be better.

If you’re on a diet, and counting calories you may want to plan your meals ahead of time to allow for a snack in the mid morning and one at night.

Some of the foods I listed are low calorie anyways but if you know your going to get hungry between breakfast and lunch, and then between dinner and bedtime, then just eat fewer calories at meals to allow a snack later on. Maybe carrots are all you have but I believe carrots have sugar in them which maybe makes them not a good choice for a snack. Maybe next time substitute celery or raw broccoli or cauliflower dipped in some low calorie veggie dip.

You’re doctor or nutritionist knows more than me but sustaining an amount of calories like 1400 a day doesn’t seem realistic and you will be too hungry.

I don’t have any problems during the daytime. I binge eat at night. I guess I’m going to have to save some calories for maybe a snack or two at night. I went over the 1400 calories by a banana and an apple.
