Took our unused boxes of canned goods to the blessing box

we were inspired by the “we feed pv” and they ask for food donations so we boxed up three boxes of unused canned goods, peanut butter, cereal and beans and rice to the blessing box at the church where ppl look for food…felt good giving. we weren’t ever going to use it.

I frequently use the local food bank cuz I only get $77 a month in food stamps and that doesn’t go far…so, yeah, we appreciate that you donate unused foods to food banks/churches. It really does make a difference for people who don’t have much food!

I used to donate to the food bank. But thier checks are so lax - ive seen people lie and make out they got 3 kids, and they havent to get extra food. And then they are seen in the town with a beer in their hand. One woman i used to know, would get a food voucher from the sally army - and then promptly catch a bus to the nearby town, plead poverty and get another one. Talk about take the piss.

Yeah, I’m not proud of it but I used to spend all my money on drugs and then go to the church to get a couple of bags of groceries. I’m an example of what goes on at food banks and my friends were doing it and lots of other people were doing it too. (but I don’t do it anymore).

Haha. Don’t worry about it lol. I had to use them years ago, but it was always pasta kidney beans and chopped tomatoes.

I was quite lucky tho, cos the mh team had vouchers from the Hindu temple here, so got to choose my own in the end.

I was on 9 quid a week for food back then, so I was grateful. Too this day tho, I cannot stand bloody pasta and sauce mixes cos I was eating it for a year back then lol.
