I got rid of it. Racked up a shitload of so-called friends, none of which I really knew anymore. Even the ones I did recognize really weren’t making any real attempts to ever hang out at all. I deleted it, tried it again. Deleted that one almost right away after an old girlfriend got snappy about being asked to be my friend again.
My girlfriend loves it. She uses it to stay in contact with sisters and cousins.
I have no use for it.
I’ve never understood why people delete their facebooks, as opposed to just stop using them.
I don’t post much on facebook, but I like the way it gives me a glimpse into the lives of my friends and family, and how I can message people.
If I wanted to stop using it, I’d simply stop using it. But I wouldn’t completely deactivate it, I’d want to be able to return if I should want to.
I deactivated mine, but I still occasionally get back on every once in awhile. It makes me depressed seeing all my friends/associates from school getting married and having kids. So I just deactivate it again. A vicious circle
I got tired of trying to hide my being an Atheist from people I knew from when I was a Christian. Plus none of those people were seeing enough value in me to meet me in person. So Facebook was not worth it for me.
Plus, yeah as others have said, it sucks to see people with lives over and over again and be reminded of it.
If I want to talk to somebody in my very small family I can talk to them on the phone.
I have a Facebook account, but I don’t use it. My friends are solely my family.
I find that many people on Facebook are chronicling their lives in lieu of living them. My sister uploads pictures of the food she’s eating at a restaurant.
All social media, including this website, is potentially addictive (DSM-5 recently added excessive gaming as a mental disorder (eventually almost everything will be a mental disorder)).
If Facebook is causing you stress, or interfering with your activities of daily living, then you should delete your account.
Delete that crap and be trigger free like me
2+ billion users on Facebook making it the largest social media platform. Most users are women and majority of people on there are normal people.

I use Facebook, I like it because I can share photos and thoughts there.
Facebook played a part in my first psychosis. I developed erotomania because of it. But that’s just me.
I have mixed feelings for it. I like seeing wat people are up to and I like commenting on and liking good lad bible videos etc. The bad side is I barely communicate with people on it and have barely any "friends " on it like 30 so that’s depressing but still
You can’t delete facebook @thomas It’s owned by Mark Z. Now TBH I deactivated my FB account one year ago and I’m not sorry.
It’s the same with Instagram except I’m only following celebrities and my only followers are trying to sell me weed etc.
I’ve deleted my facebook several times. I have family abroad now and that’s the only medium they’ll talk to me through, so I keep it online these days, otherwise I’d delete it with all malice.
I deleted my acc, then I started a new one, deleted again, started a third one, deleted again 2 years ago.
I feel better this way, I had only 10 ‘friends’ in the last one.
Hm, how about keeping it but working on restraining either how much time you spend on it, or decide not to sign every day? Some days I don’t feel like logging in. I mostly use it to stay up-to-date with family/friends. Especially those that I don’t live near or see that often. I’ve been keeping them updated on my up coming surgery information but other than that I haven’t been on much. I also glance at top news stories but then go to other sites to verify because Facebook is known to have fake/unreliable news stories Other than that I don’t do a whole lot on facebook, and rarely use my twitter account.
I’m still on the fence about this. I tend to check it without thinking when I have it. I’m not sure I can restrain from constantly checking it. But yeah at the same time completely cutting myself off from any FB communication, even if its just 1 or 2 people that I keep in touch with might not be the right move.
Try going on once a week pick the same day and only for 1 hour.
Then you won’t obsessively use it
And take the app off your phone, just use the web browser
You can keep the fb messenger app though if u want to be able to keep contact with people daily
Sometimes I deactivate my Facebook but then open it again.
I only rarely go there anymore. I talk to few friends when necessary etc. See my nephews pictures and some friends. Rarely I post a positive quote.
forgive yourself on that one man.
I’m pretty sure erotomania is common in males in general.
Oh the wonders of the unicorn women.
I’ve not made many friends on Facebook, but I plan to use it a lot once I get better. I also use a Facebook business account to make ads for my drop-shipping store.
