or Truman Show type delusions: Have you ever had the “extras” break character and reveal themselves? As in literally all the strangers in the street start glaring at you? No talking, just everyone staring? I had that happen and it freaked me tf out.
They pick up on the fact you’re paranoid and delusional. Yes they did glare at me a lot. Or it could’ve just been my paranoia. Or Combo of both.
It’s entirely possible. I can’t say how far into my apparent delusion it happened. It just occurred for a day or two then everyone went about their business.
Thanks Gratitude! Reading a few of the posts here I feel like I have a lot in common with some of you…
I often wonder about that. I wonder if I am going to wake up and find out I have been in suspended animation, or something like that.
Yep. I believe they pick up on me not trying to be part of the group or just that my body language says I’m comfortable being alone. I think they are just curious more than anything, people love to disrupt things in motion.
@Milkwood your name might be confusing as it’s in the same form as names of anonymized accounts. People might think you’ve been anonymized as well. Do you want to change it or keep it the way it is?
Changed to avoid confusion!
My most intense delusion is that I live in a simulation and that I’m the only real person in it, but I don’t recall ever having everyone stare at me all at the same time.
(I had something else written right here, but I think this paragraph was the reason my post was hidden. I’m sorry if I triggered anybody, or “fueled somebody’s delusion” as the moderator put it. I didn’t mean to, and I’ll try not to in the future)
Also, welcome to the forum!
Thanks redanne! I’ve had something somewhat similar…although I don’t think either of us could prove the other is a sim.
I’ve never had people repeat my thoughts out loud though I have had them (and various media) respond to them.
I believed I was trapped in a virtual world while I was in a coma somewhere else. yes it’s scary as hell…thank God I didn’t see the Matrix when I was ill.
Yeah, it’s freaky. It’s not me hallucinating most of the time it happens either. I’ve been told by the people who repeat my thoughts that “it was just a coincidence.” A lot of times they’ll say the saying, “great minds think alike,” but whenever I’m really paranoid I don’t believe that at all.
I’ve been asked multiple times by different people if I have ever seen the matrix (due to me talking about my simulation delusion), and then when I tell them I haven’t, they almost always reply something along the lines of, “you shouldn’t.”
yes it is almost as if the writers were schizophrenic to make that movie up.
For awhile I could see the shadow people I see clearer and they were in halo game type of uniform. When they took off their helmet they were human. I thought I was in some kind of simulation or police / military were in my house with high tech gear. Scary.
During my Truman show delusion I even thought that I could give orders to random people on the street. Like telepathically telling someone to give me stuff, because are ‘listening’ to me anyways.
Please stop fueling delusions, folks. It’s inappropriate and you all know it.
