These snakes are very cool. i want a pet for my apartment and snakes seem like the coolest pet I can get. I would want a squirrel but might get rabies or something. and birds are too hard to take care of. Thoughts??

Tarantulas are pretty easy to care for.
We have tarantulas at work but I don’t find them as cool as snakes. Snakes are pretty awesome. i love the look in their eyes. That cold blooded killer look. Tarantulas still kind of scare me tbh. At least you didn’t suggest madagascar hissing cockroaches though!
Looool man. Snakes are probably pretty hardy too. Best of luck man. I love living with my cat. Keeps me grounded.
I don’t really like tarantulas either.
Ive had a cat for about 18 yrs and she is very therepuidec
Oh yeah sorry man.
If you have space?.. open it up for a Blue Racer…the fastest freaking creature youll ever see.
What’s the point of getting a pet that will have nothing to do with you? Get something decent like a cat or dog that will actually interact and bond with you.
You could always get a pet rock, I’ve heard those are easy to take care of!
What does the snake eat? Some snakes est small animals. You might have to raise them? IDK.
I have a monk parakeet
Whats that? …a parrot with a consciousness?
Good to go man…
im looking into a skunk as a pet.
Yeah, put on your bell bottom jeans, put some disco music on your record player, and you can sit on your bean bag chair and cuddle with your pet rock.
Skunks make good pets.
I’m a zoology/wildlife biology major so I find the entire ecosystem interesting. Califofornia king snakes eat mice but they actually eat other snakes too :O. That’s why they’re the kings. I just find snakes cool. When they slither and hiss and stick their tongue out. Cool!
We have a monk parakeet at work. God is he annoying. Poor thing only has one wing though
Pretty much all our animals are rescued.
i had a snake and a tarantula,
snakes need a little warmth, i had a heat pad under my tank but it wasnt very good, i ended up not feeding it enough and it died but you get the little mice from the pet shop and keep them in the freezer until you need to feed them then you just put the little things in hot water to thaw them out and feed them to the snake, small snakes will eat little pinkies i think they are called,
tarantula are really cool, i fed my T a variety of locust but it also died after not being able to shed its skin properly as it was too dry
you have to remember that having these pets may put people off coming to your apartment lol
not everyone like snakes and spiders
Haha good post. Ya pinkies is what we call them at work too. Usually we thaw them out the night before…put em in the fridge the day before and feed em the next day. They eat a couple days a week…they never eat the 3 days I’m there (tuesday, thursday, saturday). If people are unaccepting of my snake…then they don’t deserve to see my apt

Snakes are a good low maintenance pet. The only gross thing about them is their food, if you want one you’ve got to keep dead mice in your freezer. So if you’re living with other people make sure they’d be cool with it. Also make sure they have a heating pad so they can thermoregulate.
You only have to feed them once or twice a week. A popular pet snake is a ball python, but I suggest getting a milk or corn snake because ball pythons can get very large and take up quite a lot of space and a lot of people don’t anticipate this. There are plenty of other cute and docile snakes that will not take up that much space!
Source of my knowledge is I worked at an animal science camp for around 4 years, worked with many kinds of snakes regularly.
A snake made the mistake of biting my pitbull and ended up in tiny shreds of meat.
