But it’s supposed to be the worst medication for hightened prolactin, but I’m wondering, what are the negative effects of high prolactin? Is it something I should be worried about if I do decide to try this medication?

I was on risperidone and there was no lactation or anything like that for me

How do you feel about the medication vs. the others?
What i should say is that i was only on it in the hospital. Not for very extended periods of time.

I was on 16mg risperidone and I had TD
Fortunately it went away when i changed meds

I’m on Invega and have heightened prolactin. My docs didn’t care and now they don’t check for it anymore.

Wow! That’s a huge dose. I’m on 4mg a day. Why did the pdoc put you on such a high dose?

I was on risperadone years ago- now I’m on invega injection every twelve weeks. My pdoc is trying to get me on invega hafyera which is administered twice a year (every six months).

I’m on Invega Trinza too. Not sure I want Hafyera because I don’t want a shot in the butt.

It didn’t work at lower doses.
We were constantly increasing doses
as i kept on having symptoms

I lactated on 6mg.
(Also, it didn’t work very well for me.)

I have been on risperidone since probably around 1995 and it was a game changer for me. Hospitalizations stopped and i went back to more than full time work for about 4 years. Did have a couple minor hospitalizations since but that was more due to exhaustion.
Zyprexa is pretty good too for some people. My bro has been on it and has held the same day job for over 25 years.
Even with meds though the crazy stuff doesn’t necessarily stop in your life because you make a lot of new friends who are also crazy lol

Risperidone was no good for me, it had a strong anti-libido effect which as a man was an unacceptable side effect. Your results may vary.

Stopped it do to sexual side effects
I’m on 2mg. My libido came back after a while. I miss not having a libido. I never checked my prolactin but I guess it must be fine.
Repepiridone gave my friend large man boobs that he wants to getting cut off if he could only save the money. But hes no too motivated. I cant deal with sexual side effects on invaga. Im still in the process of swutching to abilify injection
Meds killed my sexdrive but what the heck I’m a senior now so I can live with that. I just take my pills to stay out of troubles.
It’s not thee worst for prolactin, that would be invega;
My prolactin was “in-range” when i was on it and it helped my voices just a bit, but that was before my first episode so idk if it was better than invega, but i could imagine it would be.
