I’m on clozapine.7years ago I received Risperdal shots.I was on 37,5 mg.Had to stop because I slept only 3 to 4 hours and was very nervous.Now I want to go for invega shots.Is here anyone been on both,and whats the difference.(prolactin,sleeping,blood sugar,motivation)?
I would talk with your doctor. One thing I do know is that invega and risperdal are kinda similar. Invega is a derivative on risperdal. However they do work slightly different. Some people who are allergic to risperdal are also allergic to invega.
I’m on primary level with psychiatrist doctor in GP,there you can’t get shots.I have to go to mental hospital to get shots.For that Ineed a refer letter,which i can get tomorrow.
Yeah I am not familiar with that kind of stuff. In the US I get my invega shot from my psychiatry office.
So did anyone here been on both medications?I really can type crap.no time.Sorry.
I have been on both risperda l and invega injection. People complain a lot about invega. However it was a better drug for me than risperda l which made me extremely hunger. Still hungry on invega but not as much. I had extremely bad anedonia on risperda l. Still have it but not as bad on invega which I am still taking. Both cause sexual dysfunction. Had emotional flatness on both. However how they effect you could be completely different then how they effect someone else.

I did well on risperdone shots and pills. I switched due to problems getting to my clinic every 2 weeks so my doc out me on Invega. 156 did nothing and I had a psychotic break on it. My pdoc upped me to 234 and I am doing really well now.
Darn mobile phone. I mistype a lot on it.
It’s okay. I wish I could help you out more but I dont know much yet. One day when I become an expert in this field I could help alot more.

I’m on the Invega Sustenna 156mg shot. I went from 234mg to where I am now. I don’t hallucinate, I’m not delusional, voices are in the background, I haven’t gained any excessive weight and even the weight I gained I’ve lost majority of it, went from 183 - 184 lbs to 164 - 165 lbs, I don’t talk to myself the way I used to, my hygiene is maintained, I go the gym almost everyday, I listen to podcasts, read books when I get a chance, watch tv shows, anime and movies, my speech is more fluid and I can come up with fluid responses.
The only problem I have is that I have no sexual desire, low libido, and I’m basically impotent and I believe my prolactin levels might be slightly higher. I did a prolactin test and my psychiatrist said that they were a little high so she lowered the dose from 234 to 156mg. However, I also have cognitive and memory issues but my psychiatrist said that it’s the illness so that I try to deal with but I’m not happy currently. I’ve made a lot of progress but my mind isn’t what it used to be and I’m having a very hard time coming to terms with that.
Anyway hope this helps just thought I’d share my experience.
