Something new I am noticing about people. Age means a lot. Lots of jokes about people not being their age like “Nixon was born with a five o-clock shadow.” Even as a child, I felt old. But noticing someone for the age they are is a fascinating interest to me right now.

Sometimes it strikes me how different the world I grew up in was from the world kids grow up in today. Kids are exposed to so much more than we were when we were their age. Pornography is way more common and explicit. Kids encounter drugs at a much earlier age. They grow up around computers. When I was in high school a calculator that cost ten dollars today would cost eighty or ninety dollars back then - nine-teen-seventies dollars. I was eleven years old when they first integrated our schools. I guess some of the things kids grow up with today are good, but some of them are bad. Their lives are definitely more interesting.

Yes, kids are different now, I know some kids from my society who actually live and study in China in an English school speaking better English than I do.
