About your experiences with the symptoms as well as the ā€œmedicationsā€ (for ā€œbetterā€ and for ā€œworseā€).

I make no argument with meds, notmoses. Haven’t for years.

Appropriately dosed and correctly rx’d meds + stress reduction via social worker support and expertise + CBTs and/or MBCTs = a very good chance of symptom reduction and a much better quality of life. Seen it far more than a thousand times since 1987.

I’ve been on the same med for 8 years and have a therapist I see every month. Are you hinting that I need a change? I don’t know what your point is.

What is the biggest space - distance or time? I can travel back to a place but I can’t travel back in time. Let it go, move forward, look ahead.

No hints, but… are you sure that’s a therapist? (Or is she or he a psychiatric social worker managing your case?) Are you doing anything programmatic? Do you get any formal skills training? I’ve been in this racket for 28 years. I don’t think talking to someone for 50 minutes once a month is ā€œtherapy.ā€

And frankly, it’s beginning to be my sense here on this forum that most of the people who are posting here don’t know from any actual experience with it what real psychotherapy is… because they’re not getting any from these ā€œtherapists.ā€

I had a lot of psychotherapy when I was 20. I am now 71. Don’t bother me with wondering about my judgment. How old are you?

(Sorry if you feel insulted, but TFB. Because it’s the truth.) (And yes, I am in the throes of a very nasty bout of the ā€œtherapeutic disgustā€ that hits us when we are once again reminded of how useless it sometimes is to come to work.)

Is there actually such a thing? Or is that some idea someone made up to defend their narcissistic imperatives? Because, unless I am mistaken, this is a forum where everyone gets to say whatever they want (so long as it’s not meant to do others harm), even if it’s as plain SELF-destructive as so much of the ā– ā– ā– ā–  posted here is.

Please relax @notmoses. I don’t think we always need your overarching view and I don’t agree with half your judgments on people on this forum so why should you respect the original poster?

Which is your right, because that’s a rule of this Game. We get to say what we feel we need to say. And we take the risk of exposing ourselves to criticism for so doing. But, I don’t need to agree with half your judgments or those of anyone else here, either. And I see soooooo much written that does the same sort of injury to others that was done to us by the ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  we were told as children than flipped out genetic switches enough to get us here.

It’s not inate rather it’s a series of being too much alike to change.
