TD symptoms getting worse

My TD symptoms got worse over my vacation and it is still worsening now that I’m back home.

Tongue sucking, pursing of the lips, intermittent hand trembling.
Over vacation my mouth was twitching but thankfully it now has stopped.

I contacted my doctors office to let them know what’s going on.
I have an appointment with my pdoc in three weeks but this can’t wait.

I’m waiting for them to respond

Yes I’m getting worried

You’ve caught it really early, so you should be ok. I’d be worried too though.

You were on Abilify previously (for 10 years?) so maybe you could switch back to that exclusively?

Remember 10mg is the minimum dose for schizophrenia etc. !

I contacted my doctors office and they told me to remain on 3 mg of Risperdal until I see her in two weeks.
They mentioned something about possibly me coming off Risperdal altogether

Frankly I’m a bit scared

I may just ask her if I could lower my Risperdal dose down to 2 mg and raise my Abilify dose to 5mg

This could actually work

I would ask too! You shouldn’t have to suffer that long!

I can only tell you what I’d do if it were me.

I’d come off Risperdal completely and then go onto something else.

But If you were on Abilify for 10 years and it kept you out Of hospital then that would be the first thing I’d try.

I can sympathize with you. I have pretty bad TD from taking Loxapine but it’s the only drug that has kept me stable and out of the hospital. You might ask your doctor about Ingrezza! I’m on Ingrezza for my TD and it helps quite a bit. But it’s crazy expensive so I just hope your insurance would cover it

Yes if I remain on a low dose of Risperdal she may put me on Ingrezza @Hanna_Foxx or maybe Austedo.

The problem with going on the higher doses of Abilify @everhopeful is that it made me super anxious even with Klonopin, so I don’t know @everhopeful

I take 10mg aripiprazol.

I have severe dystonia. I take anticolinergic medication named biperodene to stop dystonia. I have dystonia either way so i always have a S.O.S. biperodene with me.

I have a good life but i wish didn’t have dystonia on my eyes. It’s severe. My eyes go up and they don’t come normal until 30 minutes.

I have a mental problem so i can’t stop aripiprazol (abilify). Other possible medications have other SIDE effets. I’m happy so i maintain. I don’t want to BE too sedative or fat so… I maintain this medications. Also, it’s uncertain if this dystonia would go away. I take AP since 2014. I Guess i Will have tardive dystonia Forever. (It could Turn INTO tardive dyskenia affecting other musculs. I Will try to BE positive).
