Interesting, I thought every schizophrenic had some sort of social anxiety…
I was completely symptom free before sz and while on Abilify, I hung out with friends and went to the gym everyday, I had a gf, was working and studying physiotherapy at university too. I am good at handling anxiety.

I had a friend with just social anxiety, no other illness, I know what anxiety and what stress is, I don’t have it, my friend was jealous of me.

I deal with anxiety but not too much stress.
I always told that friend that he stresses too much for no reason.

No I am never lonely, I have friends calling me video chat everyday, my brothers and parents.

It is a disorder, you have no control over it, your brain reacts very badly to social situation and some stressful events.

Anxiety isn’t about being lonely, my friend who has social anxiety has lots of friends but no gf. He stresses too much with girls. He takes Citalopram.

You can’t, only meds can do something.

He works as an electrician in construction but changes jobs too much. He’s not stable.

I take a SSRI plus lithium for mood.
@GEDchill, I’m sza and Wellbutrin made me hyper and ocd big time. Had to stop it almost immediately. I take Celexa and it works great. No problems. And I don’t take a mood stabilizer.
I have sza bipolar type and have always been prescribed mood stabilisers over the years, never ssri. My pdoc lately prescribed me an ssri but I’m reluctant to take it. I’m on a mood stabiliser already and it’s good for depression too (lamotrigine).
