I take escitalopram, it helps greatly, i cant go very long without an antidepressant
I take that too, helps with my crying spells with schizophrenia.
I’m hooked for life on Wellbutrin.
I’m suicidal without it,
I have very severe Major Depressive Disorder, and so require an anti-depressant (Venlafaxine) to help manage this. I also see a psychologist which helps also.
No, I tried them for sz negative symptoms but they didn’t really help. Anything that increases my serotonin kinda makes me manic.
I still have problems finding a good one.
I want to try Wellbutrin again, it was amazing when I was bipolar but not experiencing sz symptoms yet.
Im on citalopram. Only started on it last year, I wasn’t on ADs before but it’s necessary for my anxiety as well as depression
I take Lexapro too but it has little to no effect because I have bi polar and too much makes me feel too elated.
I use wellbutrin and it helps a lot.
@aziz why don’t you try wellbutrin? It does not affect serotonin.
I did for 6 weeks, it kinda gave me back my emotions but no improvement in other departments like motivation. It also gave me insomnia and made my positive symptoms a bit worse with increased irritability/anger issues. I am sensitive to meds. I am going to try Vraylar this month if all goes well. Thanks for asking.
Only 6 weeks? Really, you need to give it at least 3 months.
I answered too fast, I saw the increased other symptoms. Too bad.
The Dr took me off it after I told him about the side effects. On it I had voices insulting others and me.
Yea, i answered too quickly.
Been taking prozac for about 13 weeks now. It has improved my mood and has removed many of the negative thoughts. I still have ups and downs, I’m on 20mg which is the lowest dose.
Did you notice Wellbutrin agitating voices? Or are voices something you don’t normally deal with?
My previous doctor said it can cause problems in voice hearers, last time I was on it was before I heard voices and I absolutely loved it.
Yes thats what I had on Wellbutrin, mean voices. When talking to my neighbor voices told me he’s dumb, tell him he’s dumb, etc it feels like OCD idk
I don’t really hear voices. I hear other things. The closest to voices for me is thinking i hear mumbled conversation from the next room
I believe I tried Wellbutrin once in California, and my voices began insulting me. It’s been a couple years since then and we’ve managed to lower my Zyprexa on the third try without agitating the voices, so I wonder if I could possibly use Wellbutrin without any agitation.
If I don’t take an antidepressant, I quickly become suicidal. I’ve tried weaning off slowly but have never succeeded. Antidepressants are the reason I’m still alive.
