My pdoc said im not allowed to take anti depressants.

No I can’t
I’m diagnosed with schizoaffective mixed type.
It’s extremely similar to the bipolar type but I get frequent mixed episodes

I have sza bipolar type and im on fluoxetine for an antidepressant. Doesnt really do much except give me brain fog and i think its starting to effect sexual function in a negative way. So its pretty much worse than useless so far. I also take rexulti for ap and atomoxetine for adhd which im not sure i actually have.

I take wellbutrin. Sza bipolar.

You might need AP or good mood stabilizer with it. But I have found these get rid of antidepressant effects. That’s me. Who knows what combo will work for you?

Oleanz plus has both antipsychotic and antidepressant effect. I am not sure if there is any other medicine with this combo.

yes but it depends on the person as not all sza are the same

I have schizoaffective bipolar type, and I’m actually on two antidepressants, Wellbutrin and Cymbalta.

My psychiatrist doesn’t like having me on so much AD, but the problem is I try to kill myself without them. Even missing one or two days of them messes me up badly.

I also take a mood stabilizer and receive AP injections, as far as psych meds go.

I was on Anti-Depressants for 10ish years, I wouldn’t suggest it. Are you on a mood stabilizer? Maybe a mood stabilizer would be better?

I found that changing to a healthy diet was way better, I have not been on a anti-depressant in 15ish years now.

I have a sza dx and I took antidepressants and they caused a psychosis (granted I was solely on antidepressants when this happened)
