SSDI wants to talk to my employer

They sent me a form to fill out about hours paid and worked, they want pay stubs, and they want to speak to my employer.

Is this normal?!?!

The only thing I can think of is you didn’t give them enough of the information they wanted about your employment so they are going to try to get that information directly from your employer. I’m just guessing though. They obviously want to know more about your employment situation. If you have nothing to hide then you shouldn’t worry about it. They’ll look at your history of earnings at your job and maybe how many hours you’ve worked each week since you’ve been there, or every two weeks, and when you started and how long you’ve been there. I doubt they’re doing anything out of the ordinary or that you’re in trouble or anything like that. They’re probably just gathering information so they get an accurate record of your whole employment situation.

@77nick77 Ok. They were asking if I have anything being done to accommodate me to be able to work.

The only thing they’re doing is letting me work fewer hours than others. I told them that in this report.

Hopefully everything will be ok.

I worked for a while part-time while on benefits and my employer had to send my hours that I had worked every month to social security.

Quite a hassle.

And I only got paid my disability benefits after they had received that document and processed it!

@Jonathan2 , luckily in the US it’s the beneficiary who turns in pay stubs.

I think employers would resent having to do that
