Question for those working while on SSDI. I’m super nervous because

My husband reported working a few (like 4) hours a week to Social Security 3 weeks ago.

I just got a mail delivery notice (I signed up to get them everyday. They send pics of all your mail that coming that day).

Anyway, my husband is getting official SS business in the mail today. I’m worried he’ll lose his disability.

Did you get that after reporting work?

I’m sure only working 4 hours a week shouldn’t be a problem. With ssdi you can make like $1600 per month I think. They probably want to see paycheck stubs or something.

Ok. He made just under $800 in a month

How long has he been working four hours a week? If he tells them he has been doing it for awhile but he just got around to reporting it now that could be a problem

It’s not hours per week like I thought it’s the amount of money per month and it should be about 1900 a month (that’s the cap)

You also can’t have more than $2,000 saved

I don’t know the income limit when you’re married. I’m on SSDI and have worked my entire adult life part time. My income cap on top of ssdi is $1400 before taxes. Working part time hasn’t disqualified me at all, and I generally work 15 hrs a week.

He started working 4 weeks ago, and reported working 3 weeks ago
