Sleep patterns 2017

Who else has erratic sleep patterns ie not the standard 10-6/11-7/12-8 that a lot of people have?
I went to bed at 6.45 and woke up just before 3 am. Another night I might go to bed at 5 am and wake up from 10-11 am. Some days though less frequently I’ll skip sleep altogether.
I also have days when I have one or more naps during the day.

I tend to have 10pm or 12am till 3 or 5pm if I don’t have any reason to be awake. It’s annoying

U can take sleeping pills if ur gp recommend. i take zolpidem for this case…

Lately I’ve been napping (sleeping) at around 6pm till around 11pm, wake up, take meds go back to sleep around 1am to 2am wake up at around 7am till 8am.

Me. I typically wake up at least 3 times a night and that’s an average night not a bad night.

Lately I’ve been getting 8 hrs sleep but still feel the need to nap for about 3 hours a day. I’m not accomplishing anything because I’m sleeping all the time.

Sometimes it takes me hours to fall asleep, sometimes I wake up and can’t fall back asleep, sometimes I spend hours in weird half awake half asleep limbo where my head is filled with bizarre repetitive thoughts and those aren’t even counting the times where paranoia messes with me and keeps me up. When I’m on break I pretty much go fully nocturnal.

I’ve always had a rough relationship with sleep this ain’t new to 2017 :unamused:

3Am-6pm seems the norm here.

I usually sleep 13 hours on Clozapine. I really wish I didn’t but that is the price to pay for taking Clozapine. I usually go to sleep from 12am to 1am and wake up at 1pm in the afternoon.

So far Clozapine is the only drug I’ve found that reduces the voices, so it’s a necessary evil.

Having a weird summer of late which is really messing with my sleep. I’ve also worked mostly shifts and nights which doesn’t help with my sleep patterns. Worth looking into sleep hygiene to get a better nights sleep. Think I need a sleep clinic which what I’ve seen is quite expensive here.

I have problems. Problems falling asleep, I sleep too much, and have low sleep quality.
I sleep something like from 2 in the morning to 12 in the afternoon.
And again, there are problems also with sleep quality.

I usually fall asleep around 6-7pm, wake up at around 11pm and go straight back to sleep within 15 minutes. I wake up at 3.15am to see Mr Turtle off for work and nap from 10.30 - 12.30, then again from 2.30-430. I sleep heavily.

I’ve literally never slept “well”. My sleep patterns are erratic, but as I’ve gotten older I always sleep a few hours. When I was young I had many nights of no sleep.
My husband takes an antihistamine each night to sleep. I’ve tried it and it helps me to fall asleep but I don’t stay asleep.

I have erratic sleep patterns, yes. Most of the time, I go to bed between 11:00 and 12:00 midnight and sleep very well. If I wake up at 4:00 am to go to the bathroom, I go right back to sleep and sleep til 8:30 am or so. That is usually. Sometimes however, I am up all night long til 5:00 or 7:00 am in the morning. Then, I put a DO NOT DISTURB sign on my door, and sleep all day long. And I usually sleep fine the next night. I am on Seroquel at night, so, that helps a lot.

I’m so sorry for you. I pray for you. God bless.

When solely on depixol I could initiate sleep but not maintain it. Since adding seroquel I sleep pretty good.

Yeah, that sounds pretty familiar. Totally erratic, no ‘pattern’ involved at all really.
