@SunLion? & @joker? Whats been up lads?
What do you think? Considering your experiences?
Could you go into more detail, Re your expieriences and stuff?
How long did it take to do stopping? How many meds are you on?
Why last resort? And how many antipsychotics did you try before trying it?
Would you try it if you were in my shoes?
Why have you tried it?
Also @joker, when did the calmness that you expierience set in with clozapine?
Iām still slowly getting off it
Iām taking 4 different meds
One of them is to reduce heart rate caused by Clozapine
What are the four meds? How long did it take you to develop that tachocardia?
@Schztuna do you find that your agiataed on abilify at all? And what do you do to stop that?
It was soon after. Got more calm over time
I was off medication for several months due to trying every medication and none working. Recently I got very scared of my voices and said I would try clozapine again because that is the most successful one.
So far Iāve had minimal successes. Iām still hanging in there.
Iām sorry sonnyio that the meds canāt fix your problem. I know how scared you feel as I heard voices in the past aswell.
I was on Clozapine 600 mgs 27 years ago and that one did me well.
You must stay on Clozapine for at least half a year to see the end result and you must let your scrink adjust the dose up and down all after your mental status.
Hiya @Superdryā I still do get agitated on Abilify but not to the same degree I do while off meds.
To stop agitation is a bit tricky, but Iāve found that drinking cold water helps distract me from being agitated funnily enough.
Hope youāre well
Donāt use the clozapine. Itās basically poison. Thatās my two cents
I tried to get off of Risperdal and its cousin Invega a number of times and ended up in the Psych Ward due to side effects on two occasions. One occasion amounted to 4 times in a year. Risperdal and Invega did not rid me of my symptoms but controlled them fairly well but I was unhappy with the weight gain. The side effects of the replacement meds were shocking and very terrible.
I have been on cloz for a year and only things it has done to me are weight gain and sleeping 12 hours a night.Still hear voices and have delusions
Yeahā¦ I kinda agree. CLOZAPINE is a very strong Ap. Might be the strongest one. You could say is a distroyer. Good or bad. Thatās the down side, it makes no difference what it stops, voice, thinking, delusions or memoryā¦so onā¦ it makes no difference. Besides, it takes your immune system down the ground.
Although clozapine helped with my symptoms, it ruined my stomach and all i did was sleep. And the constant bloodwork was a pain. It works great for some but it is definitely a last resort drug.
Clozapine
Sertraline
Propranolol
Clonazepam
I developed tachycardia a few months after I started clozapine. Since clozapine was a miracle drug at the time that stopped my positive symptoms, my pdoc kept me on it and prescribed Propranolol to lower heart rate
Now Iām at very minimal amount of clozapine and reduced also propranolol by half
Slowly gonna get off it. My pdoc wants to try Vraylar at this point
