Doc said I might have this because I check all the boxes? I have been dealing with persistent psychosis so I’m skeptical, I was content with having SZ.
But could it be? I do suffer from severe social anxiety. I used to dress weird. But that was because I smoked weed and I liked eccentric wear and was poor so I couldn’t buy mainstream clothes as “normal” people do.
I think schizotypal PD and schizoid PD is for people who don’t fit the full diagnosis for SZ/SZA like delusions and hallucinations but have some of the personality of a SZ/SZA person. I match all of the traits of both but I’m SZA so I wouldn’t be diagnosed with the PDs even if I check all the boxes. I could be wrong though.
“ Another key distinction is that people with schizotypal personality disorder usually can be made aware of the difference between their distorted ideas and reality. Those with schizophrenia generally can’t be swayed away from their delusions.”
The diagnosis of mental disorders is a bit of a cluster â– â– â– â– when you take into account varying degrees of insight, being on medications that partially work, what really is a delusion or an obsession, etc.
