I have schizophrenia, but I have never hallucinated. My mother also has schizophrenia, for sure - very delusional off medication, but she never hallucinated either.
For a while after I withdrew from an antipsychotic injection and started taking Seroquel, I started hallucinated spiders on the wall and the bed when I was trying to sleep and once heard a voice growl. But I think this was caused by the medication. Never happened to me before medication.
So you can have schizophrenia without hallucinating. I had awful negative symptoms before which have improved slightly and I had some delusions and disorganization as well as violent thoughts, buying knives and such. Wearing military clothing.
Did you know that not everyone with schizophrenia hallucinates?
I have been on medication now for two and a half years. Now on Seroquel.
Sz can be without hallucination…they are called positive symptoms…u might now need to adjust ur medicine dose…talk to ur pdoc about ur concern…sending a loads of hug from nepal…take care mate…
Medicine works for positive symptoms…dont worry we may get effective medication in the future which doesnt have nasty side effect… take care…are u male or female…??
I dont have hallucinations too. My new doc thinks of the schizoaffective disorder, depressive type for me… My father also had some kind of undiagnosed illness and he never had hallucinations either… It can be still sz though…
