Schizophrenia with no hallucinations/hearing voices?

Hey everyone! Just curious if any of you have schizophrenia without ever experiencing hallucinations or hearing voices? Is that possible? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It is very possible.
Are you familiar with positive and negative symptoms?
Schizophrenia Simplex is when you mainly have negative symptoms.

Ah okay. Yes I am familiar with both. I have never heard of that. Do you think it’s possible that antipsychotics make negative symptoms worse?

Yes that is very possible. Some people have had to add antidepressants to their script

I see I see. I just looked up schizophrenia simplex. Interesting! I’ve heard of people experiencing paranoia without the auditory or visual hallucinations.

Some people have just delusions or disorganized thoughts for positive symptoms and no hallucinations. Hallucinations aren’t necessary to have a diagnosis of a schizophrenia, as long as you have another positive symptom instead.

Makes sense. Thank you.

I for the most part only deal with delusions on any regular basis. Sometimes my vision has artifacts. I also tend to think I hear my mom calling from the other room when she’s not.

Generally I feel that I don’t experience positive symptoms outside of delusions. I take a depression medicine for ongoing depression and have decreased motivation.
