Never assume you are as recovered as you’ll get.
A good attitude goes a long way.
You might be recovering and be stable but you are still going to have bad days no matter how much you feel you’re in remission. You’re not going to reach some “summit” where you are happy all the time, or not even most of the time.
Don’t do drugs. Messing with a mind that is already messed up with symptoms of schizophrenia is playing with fire and can lead you down some very bad roads.
just knowing the voices are not real is a heave load lifted. if you apply it they go away.
Know that, how you feel, won’t last. It’ll get better. Be patient
Always look on the bright side.
Stay away from alcohol as much as possible. I learned that it may help very short term but in the long run it causes more problems than it initially solves. Imho.
I’m not there fully yet myself but am on the path and it looks well lit.
Look after your physical health too.
Trim off violent or negative people from your life whenever possible. Find empathetic friends instead.
I find a long play of Chill Out music on You Tube really helps me.
but then again, any kind of music.
Balance your activities. Overdoing something can make your mind feel uneasy.
If you are feeling overwhelmed write a simple to do list such as
Walk dog
Have breakfast
Brush teeth
Shower
Take rubbish out
Go on forum
Have lunch
Etc
It helped me anyway when I wasn’t coping.
Stay away from illicit drugs
Take your meds even when you feel ok and start thinking you don’t need them.
Don’t eat yellow snow…
Don’t skip a dose, you’ll regret it.
I wish someone would have told me about the weight gain from AP.
Caused me many problems as I ballooned up over the years.
If you never start unhealthy habits; you won’t need to change them
