is it possible that a schizophrenic relapse even if he is on antipsychotic medications? if yes how and why this could happen? also how to prevent this from happening? do you have an experience being relapsed even you have been on medications?
no sir, I was semi delusional , semi stable on abilify once…now I’m completely stable on my med…no fear of getting delusional again.
I think it’s possible. Episodes happen a lot of the time because of an increase in stress. Whether it be the holiday season family issues, the winter blues, money issues, illness etc, I’d say it’s generally stress.
If the meds are the same and stress has increased a person can relapse. May need to increase the meds or decrease the stress.
I was diagnosed in 1980, by about 1983 I was stable but had a bad relapse in 1988 even though I always took my medication as prescribed. It took me a year to get back on track.
When I relapsed I was doing a lot of drugs and my lifestyle was not the best. I’m pretty sure it was the drugs, the lifestyle and a bad environment that all contributed to my relapse.
