Say Anything Once (11)

Funny. I was about to reply.

I quick cook dried beans. Put them in a pot of water and boil for 2 hours. That’s if I am making chili and forgot to soak overnight.

I usually use canned but I have about 25 pounds of dried beans.

I like dried split peas. I simmer them in left over broth from when I make ham and cabbage soup. It makes a great split pea soup.

Hi folks!
Made sloppy joes for dinner.
Took a quick walk to the mailbox on the other end of the complex. No mail for me. Still the exercise was good.
Tomorrow the electrician is coming to fix my buzzer and intercom system.
Tuesday I am going out for ride with my aunt to just get out of the house.
Wednesday I go to the doctor.
Busy, busy, busy this week.
Have a new robin family that took residence under the bush outside of my bedroom window.
I call it Molly’s tv, she has barely left the window or the room since the eggs hatched.
Hey it’s cheaper than hulu, lol!

I didn’t do much today. My mood took a dive earlier. Will need to drive to the gas station later and maybe go to the grocery store too.

@Loke that sounds amazing! Do you blend your own spices, or buy them premixed? I usually just buy my curry in a jar called Patak’s

That sounds like a great tasty meal

I got the Jamaican curry from the Asian market in my home town. Yeah. It’s a cheap meal that tastes expensive.

It was the Blue Mountain Country brand as seen above. Jamaican curry has a slightly different flavor from Indian. Very good

Thanks for the etymology lesson Loke.

Haha! I love your passion for languages.

How’s Arabic coming along?

:grinning:

Well thanks . Arabic is coming along fine. I’m not obsessed at being perfect at it like I was in high school with Spanish. Haha. It’s a fun hobby and you can guess there aren’t many Arabs to talk to in West Virginia

I was just worried that I’d drive everyone crazy with my scholarly pursuits. I swear if I weren’t so mentally ill and had the money I’d go to Harvard. I go through things mentally that I tell no one about. Not even y’all.

If I could go back to college for culinary lessons and languages I’d leave my home of 20 years in a heartbeat. There’s a college that teaches Arabic in Morgantown WV about 4 hours away
