I am currently taking a combination of Ziprasidone and Clozapine, but i’m slowly being titrated off the Ziprasidone.
For me, Clozapine has been a big game changer. My mental health has improved a lot with it. It is worth a go if you’re interested. They’ll monitor you very carefully should you chose to start it. Thankfully, i’m someone who’s white blood cells never altered while taking it, and the only side effect i really have is excess drooling (but i take an anticholinergic to manage that).
Recently I’m trying to go without it so I replaced it with combination of lorazepam and acetaminophen codeine to see if I can quit it or not, with clozapine, I have no problem and am happy but I want to see if I can live without it or no?
Clozapine is helping but my pdoc says it can take a full year to feel all the good effects. So for now I also take lithium and lamotrigine as well. I cant seem to shake the negative symptoms.
No, its a while I don’t have positive symptoms although I never had intense ones, my main symptoms was catatonia at early stages and then paranoia, delusions, severe negative symptoms and pain and burning in body,
Now I don’t have any positive and although life is not full of pleasures and wonders as it was before this illness, yet I can’t say I have negative symptoms too, I had 4 times of suicide, I say this to you so you don’t think I had a mild or easy sz,
Have you tried to lower your clozapine dosage and instead add a new AP, combination of APs works way better than just one type of AP, and by doing so you can lower risks of clozapine,
100mg of clozapine plus 2mg of risperidon is very strong and satisfying combo,
Like I was in real fire, although I just took 100mg of clozapine for at least past 6 months but before it, i combined it with 2mg of risperidon and I believe real changes started with this combo, I have some mysteries too which is private, not dangerous but maybe ridiculous for many, but they work for me,
