Rexulti the good & the bad

I’ve been taking 2 mg rexulti for about 2 weeks now, I took 1 mg for about 3 weeks before that. I’ve noticed it working remarkably well for my symptoms and basically don’t have any anymore at least for the past week. I started seeing improvements in my symptoms once I got to the 2 mg dose. I can take naps and no demon voices or attacks. On the rare occasion I get a voice or feel like someone reached out and touch me randomly but it is so mild and infrequent.

The bad:

-It is really disruptive to sleep & when I started it I was waking multiple times a night every night. Started taking it during the morning and this stopped. It does not cause sedation for me so this works well.

-Weight gain, I have gained 5 lbs, since it is working so well for me I am trying to strictly diet to see if that helps if it continues though that may disqualify this med for me

-Oily skin, I’m starting to break out again for the first time in years

-Dry mouth (not that bad, usually only noticeable in the morning after I wake up)

-Somewhat reduced sexual function

That’s the update!

summary: pros=works pretty dang well for all my symptoms so far, cons=Don’t take at night or causes badly disrupted sleep, weight gain (not as bad as some meds I’ve seen, 5 lbs in one month), oily skin & breakouts, minor dry mouth, somewhat reduced sexual function

It’s similar to abilify. So maybe time to open up that bottle of b-complex if it’s an increased appetite.

But don’t worry about putting on a few pounds.

If it’s working for your symptoms and is working well then I’d definitely try to stick with it.

Did you take the bcomplex ? Did it work ?

I haven’t had time to get it. I guess I’ve just become accustomed to ignoring the hunger. My wait loss has slowed down a bit recently though because the holidays :eyes::eyes:

L-theanine suppressed appetite for me. I take L-theanine with Relora, also one with green tea extract. I never feel like eating.

If I do take seroquel before bed it’s with at least half a bottle of water immediately before sleep.
