So I have been trying to get all my medications correct, and it looks like I finally have it down. I was on too much melatonin and it was what was making me sleep past alarms and such.
This is week three on 2mg Rexulti, Xanax three times a day, and melatonin at bed. I notice that I have slight muscle aches but that the scz symptoms are very manageable. I go to sleep really easily most nights, and when my nightmares wake me up, I can go back to sleep quickly. Geodon was causing severe hypertension. I am off it now. My blood pressure and heart rate are stabilizing well, and I am tapering off the blood pressure med as ordered. I can exercise perfectly well on this med. I am not sedated during the day, I just get appropriately restful at night without feeling doped up.
I don’t have akathisia from what I can tell either.
I think this med lives up to its hype in my case. Everyone is different, but the drug does have an average effect. For my type of symptoms, it is really working.
Good morning from mouse- here is a pic of life right now
I’m really fed up with abilify. I wish rexulti or Vraylar were available in Europe. But then I’d need the courage to switch, which I don’t think I have.
2mg is half the target dose. Im on 2mg along with 600 seroquel. Rexulti really is good at improving depression isn’t it? I also feel a bit of a cognitive lift.
Good to read that your medications are feeling better for you.
I’m also off abilify now.
Maybe it was to activating for me.
Made me feel worse not better.
Been off it couple days n feel better already.
On zoplicone though when needed.
olanzapine is not really a great long term choice…it can cause obesity and diabetes and is usually avoided…maybe ask about alternatives before trying it.
However it seems to work well other wise.
I rather be a bit overweight and have mental health than my normal weight and feeling horociously horrid.
I recently tried abilify because dr was concerned about weight gain but this medicine did not work well with me.
It made me sick.
I knowother people say it works for them and thats good for them but it was very very bad for n to me.
After 2 weeks i quit and went back on olanzapine.
Some how I managed to lose 6 kg and am now with in normal body mass index my Dr says.
I exercise 3 times a week and have recently started eating smaller portions.
No more daily cheese baguettes for breakfast etc.
I still treat myself to things concidered unhealthy but just in smaller portions.
I will keep in mind what you say though Mortimermouse.
