My pdoc prescribed rexulti for prn. I’m on perphenazine still. How’s your experience with rexulti?

It’s supposed to be similar to Abilify but with milder side effects like less anxiety.

I start taking it tonight. Pdoc said it’s to help with the voices and anxiety.

My Dr prescribed me 1mg Rexulti but I never went to the pharmacy to get it, was afraid of having the same side effects as Abilify. My new pdoc agrees with me.

I’m on 4mg/day. For me it gives me good mental clarity and takes care of my positive symptoms until very recently. My problems with it are that I can’t seem to handle much stress, and I metabolise it quickly which is why I’m on the max dose. I also gamble a bit now, which I never did before sz.
Abilify gave me hideous akathisia, but Rexulti doesn’t.

I’m on Rexulti right now, as well as effexor and risperidone. Rexulti alone wasn’t enough for my symptoms, but with risperidone as well, I’m doing very well. It also takes away the “shut down” effect of being on risperidone that I used to have.

I do agree with you that you sometimes need a mixture to get the best results.

I’m on invega trenza and still experience voices. My doc tried to add rexulti and it messed me up. Gave me a panic attack and subsequent anxiety. Im no doctor and I’m sure that it works for some people but thats what I experienced.

What do you mean with the shut down effect? can you describe it how it is ?
