Im having a bit of a difficult time. I just had the results from personality testing that was done ages ago. Nothing i didnt know yet, but still confrontational to hear such a shitload of negative stuff about myself. They dont balance it kindly with strenghts.
I know how you feel. I took a personality test and instead of looking at the negative side of me I’ve only looked at the positive one. You should do that. Erase the negative from the papers with a pencil. Seriously.
Ps: I would not show my personality results to anyone who isn’t a mental health professional.
People can take advantage of that, real life people especially but internet is not safer.
Thanks for the warning. I asked mods to take the personality description away.
And thanks for the understanding. She only described the negative parts… I actually gave that back to her: this gives extra insight in my issues, but i think it is not okay to just zoom in on someones flaws and not mention any positive things or strenghts.
They asked me to fill out many questionares and we had a very short talk. I dont think it is necessarily incorrect…these are areas where i struggle. But it was completely unbalanced. I think it is quite destructive to tell someone harshly everything they are bad at and nothing they do well. I dont see how thats helpful, especially for someone with strong selfesteem-issues (which they didnt notice, strangely).
Feeling more happy. My parents said some of this correct, but some they dont recognize in me at all. I still think it is stupid to tell someone only their flaws.
