(Religion - Enter at own risk with peace BarbieBF)- After 6 years of darkness, I found the light

Continuing the discussion from Philosophies about God:

I was so totally wrong about all of this. I rededicated my life to Christ yesterday after a series of events that I believe were no coincidence drew me back to God. If anyone wants to understand the nature of God, let me know, and I will do the best that I can to explain it. The bottom line is that God is real, Jesus is real and very much alive, and those who answer the call of The Good Shepard will live forever.

God Bless and Jesus Loves You, and if anyone is wandering, Yes I am on my meds and have been since 2011 when I got out of the psych ward.

Jesus is the way - it was HIS way.

That does not mean that Jesus is God or even whether God exists

I happen to know for a fact that God exists because I have seen him in a vision when I was 12 years old and was worshiping and saying “I love you Jesus, I love you Jesus, I love you Jesus” over and over. After I turned 22 I joined the military and stopped going to church, and stopped believing all together, shortly after I had my psychosis at the age of 23 and 6 months old. I couldn’t understand how God could let something like that happen to me until about a month ago. At any level it takes faith, but it takes more faith to believe that there is not a God. An atheist has to search the entire universe and conclude that (without human error) there is not God, (thus you have to assume the role of God, rather it is admitted or implied). An agnostic has to live every day knowing that he is ignorant and living for the day, avoiding an ever pending demise. A believer in Christ only needs to to have faith, and seek to walk with the Lord on a daily basis and God WILL reveal himself to them. Now does this mean that everyone who walks with the Lord is going to see a vision of God setting on a golden throne? No, because for me God knew that I would need to see him in order to return to him someday.

Jesus is the ONLY way, as Jesus said: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

I think that if God wanted us to worship him abjectly he wouldn’t be so shy about making his presence known. Why would God hide from us but still demand that we love him with all our might? The kind of God I want to believe in would care more about the moral quality of our lives than how many times we shout “hosanna!” in church. Have we helped the sick and the needy? A God who would inflict horrible suffering on us for all eternity for failing to love him to the exclusion of everything else is a pretty horrible God. I think God wants us to question his existence. It’s not like you’re picking on someone smaller than you when you do this. I don’t think we hurt God by questioning him. God is big enough to handle it.

be happy all the time…

i was told that i was chosen and that God has plans for me, makes me feel good knowing that, even if going through a bad time is part of the plan, it was sent to test me, i think. everything is a test,

To understand all of that, you have to understand the nature of God, and to understand the nature of God you have to have a personal relationship with him.

It all goes back to the question of “why would God put the tree in the garden of eden if he knew that Adam and Eve would eat from it?” It is because God wants us to choose him. Why does God want us to choose him? because he wants to have a personal relationship with us. He could have made anything to worship him but what makes man special is that we have the ability (unlike a computer or a robot) to make any decision that we want. Now… Why would God want us to choose him? I believe the answer is obviously Love. Why does God Love us? The bible says that “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End” (Revelation 22:13). Another verse states: “By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible” (Hebrews 11:3)

You see, God created everything we know from nothing, and I believe that God existed eternally long before he created the universe. We cant even fathom what eternity is, it has no beginning and no end. And the thing that is even more amazing about it is that somewhere in this unfathomable amount of time, God decided to create everything in 7 days.

The bible also says that man was created in Gods image. So the real question is: why does God love us and why did he create us to choose him?" I believe the answer is because like Adam in the garden of eden; he was lonely. God gave Adam, Eve so that he wouldn’t be alone in the same way that God created us for him. We can’t fathom Gods Love for us because we can’t fathom an eternity of being alone.

Now why would God send someone to hell for rejecting him? God is a Just God. He is the final Judge. God not only detests sin, he cannot be in the presence of sin, because he is perfect. When Adam and Eve ate of the tree of life, man fell. That is why it appears as though God doesn’t reveal himself in this dark world. And that is why when we face God at the final judgement we are all guilty. Man cannot uphold Gods law. But God knew this and that is why he displayed his unfathomable love for us by sending his own son to live a perfect blameless life so that he could lay down his life by his own power on the cross and raise it back up on the third day, conquering death. There is still a choice, but God made it simple for us, all we need to do is admit that we are sinners before God and believe in Jesus and commit our lives to him. Its not about rules, its about having a loving relationship with God through his Son Jesus.

Think of a man who marries a prostitute. If I were married, I would want my wife to be faithful to the vows that we made: “for better, or worse, in sickness and in health for life.” If my wife were to sleep with a different man every night I would be heart broken, I would be angry and jealous. This is the love and patients that God has for us when we accept Jesus. We are still sinners but Jesus said: “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.” (no man includes you)

Jesus said: “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.” (John 8:34)

I am still human and mess up sometimes, but since I have rededicated my life and removed sin from my life through my relationship with God through is Son Jesus, I have never been happier, never felt such a peace. I rededicate every day now because I don’t want to be away from God’s presence.

I am actually reading the book of John right now, but I recommend starting out with it because it is the book of love.

God bless you, and never forget that Jesus does love you

Oh, and the reason God lets things happen to us is explained in (John 9):As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth.
2His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
3“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.

God doesn’t always heal us in this life, but that doesn’t mean that he can’t still use it for his glory.

I have been through hell myself, but I think of it like the forging of a sword. Its not an elegant process.

Also, I agree that it is normal to question Gods existence, but if I could do it over again, I would have questioned God and kept my faith instead of giving up on him. But what is good is that when we accept Jesus into our lives he will never leave us or forsake us. And its not about shouting hosanna loudly in church. Anyone can do that, its about humbling yourself before the creator of the universe and witnessing him move in your life and those around you. We are after all called to be witnesses.

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments. (Matthew 22:36-40)

The second commandment is important to because we are to love ourselves too.

And hell was not meant for man, it was meant for satan and his demons.

Actually, thought this was interesting. Maybe this is more accurate?
