I would make a good peer counselor except I’ve repressed my memory of the last ten years because it was too traumatic.

No and I never will be. Peer support people are paid staff people where I live. They are hired on.
I went once to an Open Day for a program to become a peer support specialist. It’s an associates degree here (2 years full-time).
Part of the role is to keep telling your story and to provide hope for people but that was something I wouldn’t enjoy so I didn’t go ahead with following the program.
I did a peer support course some years back, but it was for the elderly with MI - i was volunteering in a day centre.
Im sure ive forgotton most of it by now.
Yeah doing a course, almost finished in peer support work. I am hoping to land a job in this field!
