Would you ever be a peer counselor?

I think some of what happens on the forum could be considered a form of peer counseling.

Would you ever consider doing it outside the forum in a different setting?

Places around me hiring peer support specialists expect you to work full time, plus to visit people in their homes if that’s what they want. But I don’t like the idea as a woman of going to unstable mens houses. So for that reason I’ll never do it

that’s a pretty full on expectation with or without going into peoples homes
with covid would you meet in outside places though?
that would still be too much for me full time

Right now it’s virtual, but they’re changing that soon. And yes, they expect you to go inside peoples homes if that’s what they prefer

Oh wow. I’m surprised that it needs to be full time, just with the nature of having a mental health condition, especially schizophrenia.

I would :100: not want to go to strange men’s houses either. I don’t even like it when I have to be alone in my house with the plumber.
